Atkins and Low Carb Weight Loss

Fully Detoxed

Last week I fully detoxed.  No white carbs, no sugar.  To my surprise, no weight loss.  Did I mention I didn't exercise! Ugh!  Just a testament that I must exercise.  I also ate too many cashews, I'm sure.  It's addictive.  So this week, I will continue to detox, no white carbs, no sugar, NO CASHEWS, but add the dreaded exercise.  Game plan today 20 minutes Pilates.  I have a Supreme Pilates machine in my house collecting dust!  And I plan to walk an hour at the gym.  Yep, got a dreaded membership too!  In the early days, I used to treat exercise like hygiene.  It was like brushing teeth.  Not something you said, "oh joy, let's do this", just something you do because you have to!  I need that bell in my head to off again on this exercise train.  Wish me luck.

Enjoy your Sunday!

It sounds like you're avoiding the obvious carbs ("white carbs" and sugar), but are you actually tracking the carbs in everything you eat? They sneak in in lots of places and can definitely impact weight loss even if they are "natural" (like fruits and dairy and NUTS) or "whole grains."

You are sooo right about the sneaky carbs, which is probably why my RNY surgeon asked us to forget about nuts.  Do I have a hard head?!  You bet yah!  Hence, my ongoing battle.  I'm going to try the Dailyplate and track all of it.  Praying for results this week.

Have a great Sunday...

What JillyBean said about sneaky carbs!  (And congratulations on ridding your body of flour and sugar, every one of us here knows how hard that is!)

There are a lot of good sites for helping to track what you eat, and they will help you find out where the carbohydrates are.  (Cashews, yummy cashews, are one of the worst offenders unfortunately).  Popular ones are:

fitday.com
thedailyplate.com (my favorite)

There are others ... You really are on the right track!

And exercise ...,. You're right, its about as much fun as flossing, but should be a routine part of our health upkeep!!!

I do like the Dialyplate and will use it.  Strange thing, it's just motivating myself to use the tools at my disposal.  Hopefully keeping in touch with the folks on this site will help me get (and keep) it in gear!

Enjoy your Sunday!
