X-Post The Wows keep coming!

On New Year's Eve I started "back to basics" to try to loose 3-6 lbs that I had gained between Halloween and then. Apparently I had decided that the months between Halloween and New Years qualified as a "special occasion!"

So after only five days of back to basics (meaning keeping my carbs around 75 per day) I have lost THREE lbs.!!!

This DS is AMAZING. I feel badly for not trusting it and not trusting all the vets who have told me that with the DS if you go back to basics that the DS *will* work for you.

It is such a comfort to me to see these few pounds gone and to know that for the rest of my life I can actually maintain this weight loss.

AMAZING.

Congrats.  Glad you are back on program and turned it around before it became a big weight gain.

I use the dreaded "D" word all the time.  Many OH'ers hate to hear it but I will say it any way.
The basics are our diets for life.     I'm ok with that.

Stray of the path and we find ourselves in trouble.  Be it nutritional deficiency or weight gain.  Regardless of our procedure.  If I ever cease to weigh/ measure my portions and track my calorie deficit I'm screwed.

You are absolutely right that the D word inspires DREAD!

I think the surgery is supposed to be a magic bullet -- maybe to some extent it is -- But it's like buying a fine, hot car.  Owning it gives you some kewl, but if you don't take care of it -- What a waste!
