Atkins and Low Carb Weight Loss
PLAN FOR SUCCESS! What will you eat at work on Monday?!?!
I'm piggybacking on Jillybean's post, because it's such a brilliant idea. Yay, Jillybean!!!
Okay, it's been a day (or so) of successfully Lo-Carbing it after the holidays. You've got the right stuff in your cupboards and cabinets, and the refrigerator is appropriately stocked with high-protein and/or high-fat foods, and lots of veggies.
But you've been home (presumably) for the holidays. Some of you have trashed your sugary and starchy junk foods, or given them to friends and neighbors, or (in my case) sent them away to college stuffed in the suitcase of your incredibly active college student.
Tomorrow is the first workday after the holidays: NOW what?!?! Are you going to pack yourself lunch and snacks, and if so -- what? Is it declasse to pack food where you work, and are you going to have to eat out with the others? If so, what are your choices?
And what low-carb snack and dinner choices will be waiting for you when you get home, tired and frustrated and ready to chew the paste off the wallpaper?

Okay, I'm in my cozy office hiding from the nasty storm outside, and the teenage storm downstairs, so I'll go first:
I always pack a huge lunch and several snacks in a large insulated bag, every day. Things I take include:
Ziploc bag of nuts
Protein bars
0% fat Greek yogurt (though thinking it should be full fat)
Atkins shakes (i like the milk chocolate)
Cheese egg omelet, cooked in a plastic bag with vegies and such, to be reheated at work
String cheese
Celery and other munchie vegies
If I don't pack stuff ahead, I wind up eating al kinds of crud during the work day.

Well, I already have some chocolate mint protein powder and unsweetened coconut milk at work, so I'm good for protein shakes.
I was JUST in the kitchen measuring out serving sizes of the flavored almonds I bought, and the battery on my food scale is low, so I now have to run out to buy a new 9 volt battery! That's okay, though, because while I am out, I will also grab some small snack size plastic baggies to put the nuts in (I was putting them into small 1/2 cup size plastic containers, but the baggies will take up less space).
I also already have sliced cheese and turkey pepperoni in my fridge at work for snacking.
So, plenty of snacks around - now to plan what to have for MEALS at work so I don't end up eating out!

Unsweetened coconut milk -- is this good? I've never seen it sold.

I'm good with packing my lunch and snacks - its when I get home that undoes me!
For lunch I usually take leftovers from the night before, a greek yogurt and some flavoring, either SF cheesecake pudding and SF cherry pie filling, or this week it will be the cheesecake pudding and chocolate protein for a chocolate cheesecake. I do like the Atkins bars but find they're like crack to me and I'll eat them only because they're there. I don't feel full by them either.
I stopped taking snacks, because I found with snacks I was gaining. IF I need one its greek yogurt or a protein shake.
This upcoming week I'm working nights, so I'll be eating at home. Work I'll be just taking a greek yogurt and a protein drink.
