Hello everyone and Happy New Year!!!  It's been years, too many to even mention, since I've followed the Atkins diet but I do remember that there was no bread, rice or even fruit allowed on the plan.  Needless to say, it was a plan that worked but was hard to follow and once I introduced those carbs and fruits, etc., back into my diet, the lost weight was once again found and along with it came more weight.  Can anyone please take a moment to reintroduce me to the plan.  I'm 35 lbs. away from goal weight and my 2 year surgervisary will be in April.  I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to make goal by then.

Thanks SOOO much for starting this group!!!

Hi Cindy!

The best way to begin is to review the links at the  "Starting Point" page.  If  you have decided on Atkins for your low-carb choice, then a good place to start would be to go to the Atkins website and read their Overview.  There are many other good links from there.

Come back with questions and comments!  If I can't answer, there are more than 100 people here who can!

Do check out the Atkins website because the program has been changed in the last few years so it's not quite as strict as the older version. You can always look under low carb recipes on the internet too, there are lots of sites with yummy recipes.
