Atkins and Low Carb Weight Loss
Introduce Yourself!
Hi
My name is Cat and I'm 36 and living in Australia. I had my lap band put in mid-April and lost 33 lbs quite quickly. I have stalled the last 3 weeks and know it is because I have eaten high carb again. Doh! I am looking for tips on a low-carb lifestyle and not eating meat this is a bit difficult. I sometimes eat chicken and fish but mostly meat substitutes like legumes (which are unfortunately high carb).

Hi, my name is Detra. I am nearly 4 years post RNY. I lost a total of 102 lbs but never made it to goal. I should have lost another 30 lbs to be at the top range of my weight class. Anyway, the last year and a half I have put back 35-40 lbs of the original lost. I am disabled and like most on here weight has been an issue most of my life. I dont want to regain everything I lost. I paid out of pocket for my surgery....it meant something to me. It still does and I struggle every day with the regain. I want it to stop. I need help and support. Back on the boards and hoping to get going in the other direction again. I am the definition of insanity....doing the same things everyday but praying for different results. Praying for strength to change my insanity!
Hi Detra I am a nurse as well! You can read about me at my blog site http://www.healthy-wealthy-n-wise.com/blog I to had RNY in 2001 I never reached my goal but was ecstatic with the 130 lbs that I lost. I then gained back about 65 lbs in the last five to six years and was beginning to feel hopeless and desperate as I was scared to death I was going to hit that 300 lbs mark again. I have lost 36 pounds since May 19th. I am really enjoying life again. It is kind of like living the original weight loss journey all over again because I am seeing the clothes fall off and realizing I don't have pain in certain parts etc. You can read my story (the first post in the archives in August is my gastric bypass one) and if I can ever help you in any way feel free to contact me. I love sharing the way I feel now with anyone that I can.
hope to hear from you.

Hi
My name is Wendy and I am a nurse. I had gastric bypass in 2001 and lost 130 lbs and then in the last 5 years have gained 65 back. Since May 19th of thise year I have lost 36 of those pounds and gone from a 22/24 to a size 18 pants and a 3X xcrub top to tonight a XL. I have had problems with iron absorption no matter what products I used and B12 deficiency. I have had multiple iron transfusions and have gotten B12 shots for a number of years. I joined this group not because I am doing Atkins (I have done it in the past... and it works) but because I know there will be some good recipes posted here that are low carb. I personally use Herbalife products and have had great results (36 lbs since May and my family has lost a total of 96 since June) My blood work was all normal for the first time in years as well so am not interested in Atkins but am interested in the low carb recipes and eating low glycemic carbs and overall nutrition. If anyone wants to know more about me and my gastric bypass journey weight loss/ weight gain etc etc I have a blog at http://www.healthy-wealthy-n-wise.com/blog (the first post in the archives tells my original story etc. I hope to get to know some of you here and would love to be able to share recipes with you.

Hi Everyone, my name is Stacy, 41 (gulp). I had lap band in 2007, never lost a pound, had it removed April of 2010 and in November I had a DS..I love my DS, it was the best decision I ever made, however I do absorb all carbs, and I am a carb-o-holic...so I know I need to do Atkins (did it once before for a solid year, lost 100lbs and gained it back it seems overnight). Looking for some support/ideas/recipes.
