It's been awhile since I have checked in. Having a hard time getting things going these days. Going for my 2mth follow up on thursday. I still have not done much exercise. Mostly walking in the evening. I did however, go and join our park district fitness center. Will be doing Aqua aerobics on tues and thurs. Also I'm going to try the Zumba class on fridays. In september they will start a Aqua Zumba class. this sounds like fun.
Would love to hear how all of you are doing...

Topic: RE: Hello to all April sleevers...
Sorry for the bad news thats happened to u. I have started working out very little. Hubs got me an elipitical which I am supposed to use everyday for 30 mins but I only use for 10 mins a few days a week. Which is not much at all. I have had a lot of stressful things going on also. So havent been in a workout mood I guess. But I am telling my self tmr no matter what 10 mins in the am afternoon and pm would equal 30 mins and not kill me at once lol. I try to take my vitamins in the morning and afternoon. I would just try taking them at meal times or am and pm so u dont forget.
Topic: Hello to all April sleevers...
Hello to all....
8 weeks out and I feel good. Seem to be having a slow go at the weight loss. I have to be honest. I have not started a exercise program yet. The day after my first post-op visit( when I got the go ahead to exercise) all hell broke lose in my life. Work stress is at a all time high. Lay-offs, my hours cut. Then my Friend's husband killed him self. This was such a blow. So this last month has been so unbelievably stressful. I will say that my friends death has made me feel so grateful for what I have. I really do not feel happy alot. I'm still dealing with my failed relationship(of 20+ yrs). But his death has made me remember that life is so important and to take it one day at a time, and I can make it thru anything !!!
So I believe that this weight will start to come off, I just have to take it one day at a time.
I also have a had time remembering to take my vitamins...anyone have any good ideas to help me remember to take them.
Thanks
Jane

Topic: RE: what kind of foods is everyone eating???
Oh good, A foodie question!
Salmon stuffed eggs??? Sounds yummmy? Care to share the recipe?
I been enjoying egg salad with chopped capers or avocado. I cut the avocado into it as a serve it so it doesn't turn brown. Or with Capers or with red lumpfish caviar. (Uh-Oh, is my foodie-self showing-LOL).
Also, soft taco with black beans and goat cheese from Gourmet store....made sour cream & salsa verde dip.
Scrambled egg with Smoked salmon and dill sauce (Creamy dill sauce I get at Whole Foods). Or fried egg w/1/4 cup or less of chili.
Skinny Cow single 50 calorie Fudgesicle for desserts.
Love cottage cheese and lite (triangular) tricuits, too. Even if I only get to chew 3 or 4 per serving with 1/2 a snack pack of CC.
Chew everything well. Use Olive Oil Mayo. Add Dijon mustard first to egg and tuna salads, then wet the rest of the way with OOMayo.
Love a few Marcona Almonds with my shakes. Keep them in ca for when I get hungry or feel I need to eat something. Usually 5 or 6 enough.
Partial to hospital recommended Unjury Shakes. Use coconut, almond, coffee, orange, or banana extracts depending on my mood. Love the Vanilla with a cold cup of Decaf and some extra Coffee extract to make a Latte Protein Shake.
Ordered Sashimi for the first time: ate a little at the restaurant and took the rest home. Diced the tuna, salmon, & yellowtail, radish (dikon), and ginger up with avocado, mirin and soy sauce and made a little sashimi salad that I ate for dinner that day and lunch and dinner the next day. Knew I would need to have it finished by the end of the following day to keep it fresh and safe to eat. It was fabulous!
Gonna open a thing of crab meat this week.
Mind you only getting in 2 oz of food at a time. But trying to keep it interesting.
Bon petitte appetite!

Topic: RE: Anyone else stall out early?
Uhmmmm.....NO! I have NOT lost 41 lbs since surgery. I lost 25lbs in the 3 months prior to surgery. To date I've lost 18lbs since 4/11 (surgery date). I updated my tickers so there' no confusion. I have lost 2 lbs last week and 2 this weekend so maybe the scale is now moving for me (I'm scared to say it...lol).
Topic: RE: Anyone else stall out early?
Totally stalled for two weeks now. How frustrating. Glad I am not alone. I am done 24 lbs. But stalled on 24th of April, 3 weeks out. ARGH!
Topic: RE: Anyone else stall out early?
Wow! you've lost 41lbs in 3 1/2 weeks?
I was told to not weigh myself everyday in the instructions given at discharge from the hospital- and actually do not have a scale (planning to pick one up tomorrow).
Other than that i guess just make sure you are getting in the water (you are already doing great on exercise! :)

Me! I lost a good 14 pounds in the week and a half after surgery. I then went up 4 and I've stayed there a week. I know that we've go****er weight and fluids and weirdness right now and it's going to take a while to start being stable, but you're right, it's very frustrating!
Topic: RE: Anyone else stall out early?
I seem to be stalling for the last 4 days. im not getting in all my protein. So I think Im going to go back to the shakes for a day or two. I hope that will help. It has been so cold here, that walking outside at night has not been possible. Hoping it will start to warm up this weekend.
Hope things pick up for both of us soon.
Take Care

Topic: Anyone else stall out early?
I had a stall where my scale didn't move an once for 12 days (since day 8) and then it dropped a lb one day and another lb the next day and then I gained that lb back today. It's such a frustrating experience. I'm walking 40 mins/5 days a week for the last 2 weeks and I can barely get in 3 shakes and a few bites of food and a protein water.
Just venting. Anybody else?
