Have you actually weighed yourself? I didnt feel the weight loss the first week either but I definately had. Your body is still dealing with the shock of the surgery, it will happen. :)

Hang in there.

I had a great and fast recovery..i was relatively pain free in 4 days. Bending and sneezing and coughing hurt for a good week or two then it started to ease up. I was back at work after 2 weeks but was very very careful about not lifting or pushing anything..anything at all. I would have to say over all it was a fast healing process, but i did have a minor topical infection at one of the incision sights. It cleared up with a topical medication. I suggest you make sure to have a pillow and hold it over your tummy when ever you are gonna be in a vehicle or feel you have to sneeze...for at least the first two weeks, it still hurts, but not half as bad. :)

p.s.      Grats! on the weight loss Lois, keep up the good work.

Hey Rodney.  No questions but just a shout out.  Congrats on your weight loss.  I had a DS on Dec 17.  I am down 44 pounds in 7 weeks.  THRILLED!

I'm out here!  Just joined.  I hope to have the RNY soon - insurance letter was to be submitted this week.  Your weight loss so far is fantastic!  Congratulations!  A couple questions:  How was your initial recovery from surgery?  How long did it take for you to feel well enough to get out of the house & run errands and that type of thing?  Thanks for your help!

I come to the boards to check almost every day and almost never see a post. Is there anyone out there that has a question? That needs clarification on anything? I don't profess to know it all, but I don't mind chatting with anyone about anything. I had the RNY on sept 15th weighing 363 pounds. I currently (according to my Wii, weigh 285) I have had some ups and downs with vitmains and eating and stalling for a few weeks. I will usually respond within a day or the same day of a post.

I completely agree...simple is better. glad to hear you arent having any issues with your vitamins, i had a few becasue the "dry" vitamins werent digesting well. I went to gummy versions of multi and calcium with D, now its much better.

Rodney,

Oh I know!  I think it is a very complex system.  I just have heard so many talk about it that I wondered why my vitamin routine is so uncomplicated!  No, I do not have any issues getting in my vitamins and I am perfectly content to keep doing as I am until it is time for labs and then adjust accordingly if needed, with Dr. Hill's guidance, of course.

Its seems to be a very busy day taking Vitamins. I couldnt possibly focus so much on one task time wise. It seems you need an asssistant to help keep track of everything you would have to take and if you work at all, it may take a toolbox of pills to get things managed. I believe that it is good to have a plan, but I dont require all those different types of vitamins with RNY. I also believe that if it is something you need to help you, go for it. I only take Mult x2/day, Calciumx2/day,Iron 27g/day,B12x1/day + Actigall and prilosec atm. Do you currently have issues getting in your vitamins?
