RESOLVE: to come to a definite or earnest decision about; determine (to do something): I have resolved that I shall determine my own destiny with weight by focusing on being healthy and focusing on my goals for myself.

Resolve is an attribute that can dwindle quickly in the face of adversity and despair. When you are having trouble with getting the exercise you need or remembering to reduce your food intake, reaffirm your resolve by focusing on the goals and remembering that many of us are in the same boat with you. We all have issues where we rely on food for comfort, but our support system is there to help us through those times. The holidays are coming and through the joy and sometimes sorrow that can happen this time of year we must have resolve. The wonderful treats and foods that are made by friends and family are hard to resist. Don't resist them, but use moderation. Remember if you have had some types of surgery how bad sugar can be for you. I go into this holiday season for the second time since surgery and it is much better to go to large gatherings and not have to ask everyone to move their chair or move out of the way so you can get through the crowd (while everyone else that was smaller than me didn't need to do that.). I don't have to go back for food and I get more time to socialize with family and friends. Resolve kept me on my path and still does.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!!

Rodney

This is a timely post for me. Tomorrow I begin the 9 day pre-surgery diet.  I am resolving to stay on this diet to give my liver a chance to shrink.  I see that this "action" will have positive impact on the "outcome".
