Anyone out there?

I come to the boards to check almost every day and almost never see a post. Is there anyone out there that has a question? That needs clarification on anything? I don't profess to know it all, but I don't mind chatting with anyone about anything. I had the RNY on sept 15th weighing 363 pounds. I currently (according to my Wii, weigh 285) I have had some ups and downs with vitmains and eating and stalling for a few weeks. I will usually respond within a day or the same day of a post.

I'm out here!  Just joined.  I hope to have the RNY soon - insurance letter was to be submitted this week.  Your weight loss so far is fantastic!  Congratulations!  A couple questions:  How was your initial recovery from surgery?  How long did it take for you to feel well enough to get out of the house & run errands and that type of thing?  Thanks for your help!

Hey Rodney.  No questions but just a shout out.  Congrats on your weight loss.  I had a DS on Dec 17.  I am down 44 pounds in 7 weeks.  THRILLED!

I had a great and fast recovery..i was relatively pain free in 4 days. Bending and sneezing and coughing hurt for a good week or two then it started to ease up. I was back at work after 2 weeks but was very very careful about not lifting or pushing anything..anything at all. I would have to say over all it was a fast healing process, but i did have a minor topical infection at one of the incision sights. It cleared up with a topical medication. I suggest you make sure to have a pillow and hold it over your tummy when ever you are gonna be in a vehicle or feel you have to sneeze...for at least the first two weeks, it still hurts, but not half as bad. :)

p.s.      Grats! on the weight loss Lois, keep up the good work.

I got fitted for one about 2 years ago. The process is tedious but not painful. A lot of wires connected to my head and body. Slept for a while. The tech and the machine did the rest. Of course that was then........now I am off the C Pap machine altogether. Weight loss did the trick!

The mask can take a little to get used to for some folks, but overall the process is painless. The first night I had my bi-pap it was awesome, I actually got a night of rest. :)
