Adirondack WLS Support Group
gratitude
Hi everyone - I've been missing from OH and from this group for a while and thought I would give an end of year update.
I am about 11 months out and have lost 127 lbs. My original goal was to lose 100lbs. Then I reset it to 120 lbs. I have happily exceeded this goal.
Things with which I still need help and support: As I progress closer and closer to 'normal' (my new normal) eating habits, I am more and more tempted to indulge in foods that get me into trouble - cookies, chips, etc. I know I need to stay away from these things and so far have had no real issues - but it is a red flag. I DO NOT want to return to my old habits, my old emotional state, my old physical state. I WANT to maintain this lifestyle - this gift I've given myself.
Things for which I'm grateful:
Health, family, friends (even when they make back-handed compliments), pets, job, nature...
There's a lot to be grateful for, not the least of which is my improved health - both mental and physical. My life is very different post-surgery and I have no regrets.
I actually was given the gift of Christmas spirit this year! I haven't had that in a long time.
I wish everyone health, happiness and positive support in the new year and in their weight loss journeys. Don't hesitate to contact me.
