What year did you graduate? I went to hight school here, but moved away for a while... Now I am back. Funny, you hate the place as a kid, but love it as a parent!

Thanks Mendee!
I actually grew up in Mulvane. I graduated from HS there, and my parents still live there. I come through often!

Hi Alicia! Welcome to the group!
I can attest that losing the weight makes your favorite activities easier. My husband and I like the mountains and outdoors. Last spring we went hiking in Rocky Mountain Natl. Park, and instead of just walking the "walking paths" we actually hiked up the mountain. I can't wait till we can go back to Yellowstone so I can get a closer look at things instead of looking at the scenery from the car!

Great to have you in the group!!! I have heard many good things about the sleeve, and know it is becoming a popular option for many! Just tonight at the local support group meeting, I think the majority of the pre-ops were having the sleeve.

Hi I am one of Dr. V's vsg's patients and I am so totally in love with my sleeve. It has been one of the best things I have ever done in my life. I had it 5-18-10 and I think I have done very well with it. I have never once thrown up or been sick by any means. It has changed my life for the better and I couldn't ask for more.

Hey everyone!
I'm Alicia, from Wichita. I've lived in this area my whole life (grew up in the 'burbs), and really have never thought about living anywhere else. I'm pre-op, but I'm tentatively schedudled for November 11. I'll know for sure Tuesday when I have my last pre op visit.
Even though I'm from here, I'm actually having my surgery down in Oklahoma. I'm having a VSG, and I am extremely excited! In addition to the health benefits, I am so looking forward having an easier time at taekwondo (I'm a 3rd degree black belt) and my dance classes (middle eastern belly dance)!
I look forward to getting to know everyone. I plan to come to the Wesley support group this Tuesday evening.

Hi Norma! Glad to have you in the group! Seems like just yesterday, I was in your shoes. Yet in 3 weeks, I will celebrate my 2 year surgiversary. Time Flies!
You are in good hands with Dr. V. He is just the best!
Please feel free to ask any questions. There is no such thing as a stupid question, and I believe the more informed you are regarding WLS, the more successful you will be.
Also, if you care to, come to the Support meeting next week at Wesley. They are going to have a fitness trainer from the YMCA go over some ideas for winter time exercising.

Hi everyone. I'm new to this site and the WLS world in general. I am currently handling all of the appointments required prior to submitting my request for insurance approval. So I'm very pre-op and hoping everything goes quickly.
