Vegan/Vegetarian
Where you all from and WLS status?
Hi and welcome! There is allot of "mock" meats that is still all vegetarian. Like they have beef, chicken, all meats really, and even fish that is made to look, taste, and feel like the real meat but is all plant based. People normally use these type of mock meats to help them transition to being a veg. As for protein there is allot of beans, tofu, those mock meats, and things like soy milk, almond milk. All those things has proteins in them. Because I have had wls I use a plant based protein shake. Its really not that hard once you try it.

That's nice but what is a mock meat?, I never really noticed that in the store. I tried the plant fusion choc raspberry shake, not too crazy about it, must be an acquired taste lol. I definitely am not a fan of beans, too much farting involved LOL, but I did like soy milk, but according to these boards people are getting to 80 and 100 grams of protein per day! I figure it must be hard getting to those numbers as a vegetarian.
I've read there are different types of vegetarians, which one are you & do you like it?, were you the same type of vegetarian b4 wls?, did you have to change afterwards? Did you want to change to a different type afterwards or were you happy where you're at? Did you become a vegetarian to leave less of a carbon footprint on the planet or was it more for health reasons? I thought using a protein shake that is whey based would fit in with a vegetarian lifestyle, why use a plant based one, especially since it seems they are so harder to come by, are you allergic to whey? Oh my goodness I've asked enough questions to be a separate thread! Thanks for any info.

I'm what they call an omnivore ... I try to eat organically homegrown fresh and locally ( usually from my own backyard) , and often my meals are totally vegetarian or the meat is seriously cut with fresh veggies nd rice and beans .
I lost 100 lbs post op and kept off 80 for almost five years . I am ridiculously healthy and young looking and energetic despite having no plastics yet ( im way overdue... but was involved in a financially debilitating divorce )

I think the BEST thing about being a vegan or semi-vegan is how amazingly young looking and functioning we are . I ALWAYS have twenty or twenty-five years younger guyz asking me out ... it feels totally weird but strangely flattering . I suppose I HAVE to get used to being " not my chronological age " ;0

I can hardly " mate " with the oldsters who r " my real age " ... yet again I feel very alienated from the son- grandson cultures of my would be mates . I DONT want anyne EVER again to tell me I have " old lady feet " because I didn't get a manicure ...
am I being too sensitive ? Should I just be a tough successful railroad baron ( female ) circa 2015 ?
You are too funny with your comments but hey I say looking younger is a good thing. When I tell people my real age they are shocked and think im in my early 20's lol. Funny though because when I was younger they thought I looked older now that im older they think I look younger hahaha.
