February 14 with Dr. Aceves. We'll be under anesthesia together just a few miles up the road. Best of luck.

Hey Nakita . . .I'll be in Mexicali exactly one week before you. I can't wait. I'll be letting everyone know exactly how fantastic it goes. I'm being optimistic that I will have no pain, no nausea. Will immediately lose any sensations of hunger. Will be back to all my normal activities . . .and more . . .in no time.

Yay!!!! February 28th has been confirmed!!! That was close for "VSG Victory begins in February"!! I had origionally been looking at a mid-month date, but my psych eval was lost in transit, which delayed the scheduling process.
Finally on my way!!!

Welcome to the group Nakita! Congrats on your Feb. date. I'm sure you ARE excited! I still don't have a date because I am waiting on my psych eval to be submitted to the surgeon. I had the eval done almost 2 weeks ago, but now she's left on vacation until after the new year. She didn't send it off before she left, so it looks like I'll be waiting a while longer to get scheduled. Ugh! Based on the surgeons schedule two weeks ago, I think I'm looking at a surgery date in late Feb.
I commend you for the steps you are taking to get used to the new rules! I know I'm going to have a hard time taking smaller bites, chewing to mush and eating slower. Not to mention all the drinking! Have you been using baby spoons? That's something I've heard a lot of people doing to keep the bites small. As soon as I have a date set, I'll be making some changes to prepare. You and I have about the same BMI, so I'm curious to see what the surgeon will want me to do pre-op. My current (and highest) weight is 260, and I am 5'4". I'd love to lose 1/2 of that, and can't wait to get started!
Keep us posted on your progress!
Happy Holidays!

Hello My name is Nakita. Im schedule to have my VSG feb. 21st yeeeeeee im so excited!! right now I just started practicing on taking smaller bites of food and chewing atleast 32's I figure I may as well get use to it due to the fact after the surgery a whole new lifestyle will take place... I will be going on a high protein diet 2wks before my surgery as instructed by my doctor my bmi is 44.3 so I have to lose weight b4 surgery. Have any of you started to change anything about the way you intake food?
