Thank you! The HOA is required to announce when the board is meeting, even if no one else is invited. So she was understandably curious as to why we were meeting.

I did ask the president how the business came to her attention and she said she was walking in the neighborhood and some of the son's clients were having trouble finding the house and stopped to ask directions. Wrong person to have asked! She went home and started googling and the rest is history...

Yrs, awful position to be in. I suspect the friend knew something was coming, or why did she ask about the meeting? How did she know it was happening? People don't like being called out on what they know they shouldn't be doing... But those are the rules she agreed to, and they protect her too from someone opening a yoga studio or hair salon etc. You did nothing wrong.

Fortunately stumbled upon an Amish grocery store down the road aways...4.25 a dozen for extra large and feeling right fortunate about it.

3.7 mph?!! Wonderful. You are a mere .3 away from the magic 4.0. You go, girl!

Ugh. HOA drama with my good friend. We had a board member-only meeting yesterday (no homeowners). My friend texted and asked if it was anything bad since homeowners weren't invited (she is not on the board). I said, no, as far as I knew it was housekeeping items.

The meeting starts and it feels like a dressing down as the president read us the agreement we all signed when being added to the board about upholding the CC&Rs. I'm thinking where is this going? Then she starts in on the first item which was a surprise about my friend breaking the rule about running a business out of her home. Her son lives with her is a Cordon Bleu trained chef who has a business cooking for people and teaching them how to make the things he cooks in the casita. I apparently am the only board member who knew he was doing this and while I have read the hundreds of pages of CC&Rs, I don't make a habit of examining my neighbors for how they might be in violation. I honestly never put 2 and 2 together. He's been doing it longer than I've been on the board. So some of the "you're not upholding the rules" lecture was aimed at me.

Another board member said he would call and let her know we were aware this was happening and it has to stop by July 1st, but wanted her to hear it from a neighbor and friend. It didn't go well. She said we are singling her out/targeting her/keeping her son from his "right to earn a living" and she is fighting back. The rule is very clear. No businesses can operate where customers come to the house. This lets lawyers etc work from home, but excludes customer-focused businesses.

When I saw the email that he had called her this morning, I texted her saying how sorry I was this was happening and had I known that was what the meeting was about or that what her son was doing broke the rules, I would have said something earlier. An hour later, I asked her if we could talk when she was free. It's been nearly 7 hours and she hasn't responded. Being on an HOA board sucks when you mostly end up policing your friends.

So that's my world aside from losing a boatload of money the last two days. Oh, and Kirby ripped out 12 feet of dripline irrigation while I was on the phone (having to be outside because I can't talk on my phone in the house during to crappy service). And Walgreens who I moved my prescription to is sitting on the prescription so I need to go in and explain the whole savings card nonsense.

Hope you all are having better days!

I have one of those! Toto. I really like it aside from one awful aspect, which is the relationship of the oddly shaped bowl to the seat in combination with my person. How to put this... No matter how I angle myself to wee, there are splashes on the underside of the bowl seat. I end up cleaning it daily. Gross, I know, sorry! But it's such a disappointing thing. I'm not sure I would get one again, or I might need a different one. I've never had this problem before.

Greetings all

Great sunny day here. I am lazing about as DH is out so I can control the tv. (anybody remember "Outer Limits"?). I promised DH I would work with Poppy a bit today since she acts up so much on a walk. I think she is triggered by cats and dogs. Not sure how DH is responding but I think she just needs some leash manners.

Yeah Liz ditch the painful golf shoes. I have never tried Allbirds but will do so as all shoes hurt me. I am wearing some that are glued together because no new ones work. And yeah when I grow up I want to be Tina Turner and dance in a sparkly short dress.

DD get home safely. Glad you missed the worst of the weather. News reports for that area were awful. Interesting about the empty Memphis buildings . Some cities have done a great job of gentrifying older areas. Omaha sure has. Memphis needs a lesson.

Paula yay on exercise. Good work out. Keep it up. Exercise snacks or full on meals. Either works.

Heloooooo Ann. Thanks for the bidet info. Gotta admit I am a bidet virgin. Always wonder how one avoids water dripping down legs. But they are everywhere in Europe so must work. Don't tell my DH about this. He will want one. Derby week - just go to other people's parties. Is it hard to get tickets to the race?

DH will likely bring home Pizza from his lunch out. So be it. No cooking for me. Gotta stop at store for eggs and such. Wonder how many zillion dollars eggs cost this week?

Cheers. Diane S

205.8 - all good here.

Way too much on my plate this week. What was I thinking? Oh yeah, I know... I put myself in a position to help others and forget how much time I really need to get my own stuff done! Ron had to remind me of this just the other day.

2 dogs groomed this morning. Now to tackle some of the garage clutter, an appointment with the NUT at 3:15, chest and ab work out after that, then dinner plans with BFF.... Oh, have to write a president's message for the national newsletter tonight after dinner... Just a few things....

Shot day yesterday... I keep seeing ads on FB and in my email for lower cost tirzepatide. I will be happy to spend less if that's really the case when I need more in June.

Not much else... better get on my broomstick and get that garage area started.

Fab Friday!

I can imagine that derby week must be a huge deal there!

A friend's father poo-pooed the idea of a bidet when his daughter bought him one until he was in his last years and all personal grooming became a chore. Then he praised it for allowing him to independently use the toilet.
