Greetings all
Sunny today though clouds earlier. I actually left the house wearing just a t shirt. One from 2001 from the border terrier national specialty. So long ago in a galaxy far away...Went to the gym to walk. Sgt. Pepper and Simon and Garfunkel. Skipped the studio since I got a slow start. Studio buddy called and talked and talked. I am going to have to say something to her. She wants DH to help her with some computer issues which he is happy to do but she is now spouting some conspiracy theories regarding her slow internet. Must decrease all the drama if she wants help.
Yay for the "Ann" day. Nice to take yourself out. We should all do this. I mostly do a drive through sandwich on busy errands days and there is no reason not to have a sit down lunch. Plenty of places. Wishing you the best on travel and the further remodeling.
Congrats liz on tax status. You are way ahead on this game! Hope it is warm.
DH enjoy the Easter plans. Hope your parents house is low drama. And as you well know the shopping for dinner prep can be as much work a the dinner itself. Good to have a shopper. We are going to eat dinner with some friends at the casino restaurant which is actually pretty good and has an out of this world ocean view.
Yay Paula your DH is almost retired. Live it up!
I am trying to think up ways to get more protein with minimal effort. Shrimp tonight from Costco. i still have not checked out the steak bites. That means I will have to go there myself instead of sending DH. But I love looking at their prepared food options. A trip to costco counts as a gym trip.
And yeah, another school shooting. When are we going to fix this? Florida State was where my mother went to college.

My parents used to wait until January to go south, and returned in early April. If I had a home in Florida, I'd do like you Liz. April is so blah, nothing but brown landscape. And there's still a chance for snow.
Ann your plans all sound wonderful. It's been awhile since I took myself out for lunch. Its a nice moment, especially if you're out running errands. Which I plan on doing tomorrow, so maybe lunch too.
We have tomorrow off, so today is virtual Friday. I plan to do a little shopping tomorrow, for both necessities, and frivolities. I am still on my no Amazon pledge, but that doesn't mean no shopping :)
After various texts that made me hopeful I could crash my brother's Easter celebration, it turns out that is not happening this weekend, and now we are bringing dinner to my parent's house and my brother might stop by. DH, the apple of my eye yet again, went to the grocery store to buy everything we need to make dinner.
No plans this evening. Currently listening to the thunderstorm. DH is making steak for dinner. Not sure if he's going out into the rain, or using a grill pan in the kitchen. Either works for me!
No time for a massage? But, retirement .... I guess it's true, retirement can be as busy as working!
How wonderful for the friend who needed support to have a caring group to lift her up. The world is still good.
126.1. All good!
Lead Bible study this morning, such a great group of woman who love on each other. One is having marital problems and we all just surrounded her in prayer and love. Not a judgy group at all. I feel safe with them and I think they all feel the same way!
Did a little grocery shopping and made a yummy lunch with cottage cheese, mandarin oranges and a little sugar free orange jello powder all mixed together. Similar to a Minnesota salad that's not really a salad that my Mom used to make but also had crushed pineapple and cool whip. I decided to make myself a healthier version. Also bought some sugar free puddings to snack on and not so sugar free Fat Boy Junior ice cream sandwiches!
No workout today, I'm not feeling it but will take a short walk with DH and dogs when he gets home from work! He has 3 more weeks until retirement!
Enjoy the less congested golf course Liz! I'm looking forward to May and June flowers as well!
Nice day all to yourself Ann! I'm ramping up on the self care right before the wedding. Botox, cut and color, spray tan and a mani pedi. The only thing to add would be a massage but I don't have time in my schedule for that!
Sounds like you are having a much deserved You day today. Enjoy!

We finished everything in time to file on Tax Day. When our tax person printed out everything out it was (I swear!) half a ream of paper! The good news is that it's the least either of us have paid in several years--and all because we could file jointly instead of separately. Really doesn't seem fair to singles. Then we went home and took the red convertible out for its maiden 2025 outing--first to the car wash and then for ****tails and dinner at a luscious Cuban restaurant.
Yesterday we had an appointment at our local Social Security office where we ordered new Social Security cards, changed our residential addresses, and I switched my bank deposit instructions to our new joint bank account. Those were important to-dos checked off.
This morning I had my hair cut, colored and styled. I wish I could make it look this good by myself.
And now I'm sitting at a nice restaurant bar having lunch by myself--Chardonnay and white bean chicken chili. At the bar it's just me and 10 retired guys hanging out with their bros and having a good time. Boys like to go out to lunch too, it appears.
After lunch I'm getting a pedicure--it's that kind of lovely spring day.
During all these home improvement, financial, and grooming events, our remodeling errands, decisions, and errands continue apace.
Next week I'll be in DC all week hanging with old friends at an industry conference I've not attended since before I retired. It's a chance to see old work friends and clients for probably the last time. I'm looking forward to it a lot.
And the following week (first week in May) is Derby Week which has a momentum of its own. The week after that we start moving our furniture in.
Now you know what my next month looks like.

Busy day yesterday followed by a good meal out with friends. 2/3rds of mine came home in a box. Will have to add some more shrimp to it to extend it to split with DH.
I just checked our federal refund status and it finally shows as accepted with the deposit to happen on 4/21. We filed on 3/30 so pretty much exactly what it said the expectation was. I wonder if most of it is automated? Our return was a bit complicated this year so we were a little worried. The sale of 2 homes was one thing, but DH's home had been used as a rental in the past so had prior losses to be applied but also depreciation which had to be handled. Good thing my financial guy did it, not us. Our future years should be much smoother.
I have my next to last spring golf league game this morning. It's amazing how quickly people are leaving to go to their summer locations now. Only 36 women are playing today - less than 1/2 the norm. We are here until May 25. No point in being wet and miserable up north. April showers are April and May showers on Cape Cod bringing June flowers.
Have a terrific Thursday!

LOL - I have readers everywhere.
Did you like Dexter all the way through? I liked the early seasons but I stopped watching at some point because I just didn't like it anymore.
