Oh no CC, that sprayer incident, not good! Glad your eyes, skin, everything else is okay. Stupid scorpions, I blame them!

And yes, DH actually let me take him to Tommy Bahama and exchange a recently purchased XL linen shirt for a large. Looks great on him!

LOVE THIS!

Greetings all

Another great spring day. I had half a ham sandwich for breakfast and then did my walking. On to the studio after that where I did glazing. Had an impromptu meeting with the gallery finance gurus - our outgoing treasurer and the incoming one. I am the finance "Tonto" as they all want to run everything by me. All good. I will keep doing the tax returns and sales tax and deposits but not being the actual treasurer I don't have to listen to *****ing.

Fun event Liz. Yeah some people will do anything to save a couple of bucks. I used to have wealthy clients who did stuff like that. Makes little sense. Like eating a Costco hot dog because they are cheap. Yeah, but who wants a hot dog?

Last faculty meeting Peps. Congrats. Looking forward to hearing about the new pup. Glad the concert went well and that the parents appreciated.

Well DD good on you for just rolling with the party plans. Let someone else worry about it. One of the great lessons of life - learning to just roll with it (and when to not). Glad you are warm and toasty there.

CC WTF! squirting yourself with scorpion killer??!! Don't do that again. Hope it was not painful. And yeah more trees would be nice. But more trees = more crap in the pool. It's always something.

I keep threatening to do a ricotta bake. Might be tonight.

Graduation this weekend! DD has done so well. And btw, no surprise that your DH was at all those performances years ago. You have a gem.

A little guy! I have to admit that I love them small.

Last school concert with happy participants and last faculty meeting: It is getting real!

Yesterday evening was fun. I went to the neighbor's for ****tails at 5 with two other couples and we ended up all staying until after 10. Very late for me! Haha. It was fun to see their house as I hadn't yet. It's one that's been here longer than most, so the mature landscaping was envy producing. Those of us with houses in the middle of the development really had scraped lots to begin with (this used to be a tree farm). The lots on the outer rim have a lot of natural forest trees and shrubs. It will take a long time for us in the middle to have anywhere near the vegetation they have... So my board buddy and I were sighing as we're both in the middle and he is perpetually in trouble because his solar panels are on the ground and very exposed and he gets complaints they should be hidden by trees. We joke we'll all be long dead before the slow growing trees here hide his panels and my living room tv from prying eyes!

Today I went to Home Depot to buy new hoses to replace my 3 melted ones. I tried to find new hose bib handles to replace mine that have also gotten sticky like the hoses, but they didn't carry the right kind. I came home and looked at the bibs again and found a name on them and was able to find some online to order.

The pool was full of leaves and spent flowers from the big winds we had yesterday. I went to use the pool skimmer bag and it disintegrated when I went to scoop! More sun rot, yay. The upside is I had one in the garage I had bought for the fountains that ended up not being right for those and it fit on the pole. Nice to be able to use something I had rather than buy something new.

My super stupid moment of the day yesterday was I bought some scorpion insecticide that you mix in a sprayer after finding the first one of the season in my house. I put the sprayer together, mixed it up, pumped it to prime it and the nozzle blew out hitting me square in the face with insecticide. I was right by a sink so started washing my face and rinsing my eyes (thank God for a quick startle reflex, I don't think much got in them), then I ran inside for a long, thorough Silkwood-esque shower washing my face, hair, mouth, eyes etc. I don't think there is lasting damage except whatever negative points I've added to my lifetime cancer risk tally sheet. Jeez Louise. I should have tested the sprayer with plain water, worn eye protection, pointed all failure points of the sprayer away from me, etc. etc. Ugh! Dumb!

Aside from nearly blinding myself, that brings you up to date. Hope you all are well!

Yes, he's a Lakeland Terrier puppy. He'll be pretty small - about 17 pounds as a grown up.

Tell us again what breed the new baby is? He looks like an Airedale puppy, but he's not right?

Funny the way people will try to get a deal. My parents and their Florida friends loved to go to Sams Club and buy some huge sandwich there and split it 6 ways! Now knowing they all could afford to have second homes makes me think they could have a nicer lunch elsewhere, but they probably enjoyed this one so much because they had pulled off some great deal.

Peps, it is indeed getting real. And kudos to giving the experience they are hoping for as their little darlings sing their hearts out. I remember those days well. Even when they were older. DD had a lead in the play her senior year, and DH made it to all 5 performances. I had conferences so only made it to 3. :)

I worry for the weather in ND. I saw a headline this morning that snow was possible this weekend in Northern Minnesota! I didn't have time to read the article, so I don't know how possible, but seems crazy as even the north country has had unusually high temps. Today it is 87 here in Minneapolis. I hope the temp isn't crashing that much.

The retirement party saga continues! My friends switched the date so it won't conflict with the other party. So bigger party is on, and invites went out. I'm rolling with it. I asked if DH could contribute to the cost, and they agreed to let him buy some of the appetizers. So casual, but hopefully fun. The restaurant is reserving the patio space adjacent to the lake, so we're hoping for good weather. It can certainly go either way here the1st week in June.

Clothes are washed and I just need to pack them for Boston. The weather is looking a bit better for Friday, so I am going to pack my favorite pink dress for the graduation on Friday. I'm still deciding what to wear to the party on Saturday. We leave tomorrow morning at 10am.
