Summer's exposed toes have returned to their natural color and sandals are lined up and waiting a good inspection and buffing up before returning to boxes and a long winter's nap. Nice foot wear has always been a thing with me, probably because they were the only fashion things that I didn't buy, no matter how awful, just because it fit. When I could, I totally went overboard with the wardrobe (luckily for the wallet, Saint Vinnies provided innumerable opportunities to overindulge). So, curious, Devon, did you buy all those lovely shirts sized for now, later, or a combination? I love a good deal and score a big one on you
Today, I'm prepping for a colonoscopy for tomorrow morning (routine) so of course, every time I walk into the kitchen I focus on the food nibbling I'm being deprived of. Can't say that true hunger has anything to do with the itch to eat, but does strongly indicate how much of a day's time is devoted to eating or thinking about food or planning and preparing the stuff. Shoot, I could have solved the worlds biggest problems with in the space of time I've devoted to the subject of "food" -
Speaking of which, I'm thinking right now just how I intend to dress up this gosh awful plain and inadequate orange jello tomorrow afternoon with fruity goodness and a mountain of fresh whipped cream.
Thinking it's about time to blow off some of the day with a book fallowed by a nap, then walkies with the Swann who, while remaining cool, calm and happy, especially enjoys provoking the neighborhood dogs to much verbal excitement.

Enjoy your new, smaller, better fitting clothes. Sounds like you got a very good deal. You've worked too long and too hard not to be dressed in clothes that suit you. (Which is what I tell myself every time I buy something new).
Funny thing about clothes. I shopped in my closet and was happy to put some old favorites back into rotation. Some pieces are 7 years old (or older) and I was desperate to wear them again. Now, not so much. I find they've hung there most of the summer, and I've reached for the new stuff over and over. Probably time for another closet clean out and to admit to myself that even though they fit again, their season with me is done.
My area of Florida is actually fine except in a few relatively small pockets where the tornadoes touched down. Stores are all open and most places have power. The other coast near the water is a bit different.

I always pack more than I need somehow!

Weight back down to Tuesday's 223. I'll take it! Next mini goal is 219.9 - Just wanna get below 220. I think I can do that in a couple of weeks.
I have not heard of a Swap Shop. Sounds like a GREAT IDEA!
UH OH!!!! I'm having flashbacks of my clothes shopping addiction post VSG. Now, I didn't go hog wild, but.... Charles Tyrwitt (British clothiers for men) had a multi-buy sale going on. I succumbed. They have the absolute nicest quality 100% cotton polo shirts I have ever worn. Generally, they run $99. Their dress shirts run $119. Anyhow, with Ron's encouragement I bought 4 dress shirts and 2 polos because with the multi buy sale all the shirts were $45. I'm going to have to watch my spending on clothes as I drop weight. I need to save my money for possible skin removal!
Even though I am losing very slowly and making sure I get lots of protein my skin at 60 is not snapping back like it did in my late 40s. Still, I'd rather have loose skin than have it filled up with unhealthy fat. Plus, I can see muscles under all the loose stuff and that's kind of fun.
Have a busy day ahead. Cutting Dad's hair at 10 am, then my bro's dog gets a trim at 11. Then I'm off to Acampo (about an hour and 20 minute drive) to pick up my stuff from the Pennsylvania shows that friends schlepped there and back so I didn't have to pay the airline and evaluate their Cairn Terrier puppies. I love Cairn puppies. They are so BOUNCY and FEISTY!
Liz, safe travels back to Florida. I'm not sure I would want to return until things settle down some more. Hope you find your area in good shape and all conveniences and necessities available.
Soothing Sundays to all!
The cold air has arrived. Blustery cold front is bringing us a real taste of late fall. There are freeze warnings tonight, so I need to remember to bring in my houseplants that spend the summer on my shady porch.
I hadn't weighed myself for various reasons for a couple of days. I'm always anxious when I miss days, anticipating an unpleasant surprise when I get back to the scale. It's all good, my weight is staying within the same 2 pound range.
We enjoyed the show we saw yesterday. Afterwards we tried a new restaurant, a distillery actually. We were impressed with the food and whiskey. I also loved that although it was a big open space, and there were several large groups, the noise level was quite tolerable. Not a fan of some of these incredibly loud places.
Both the theater and the restaurant have co ed bathrooms, which leads to interesting etiquette. At the theater, the handicapped stall opened when it was my turn. The woman behind me had a walker, so I told her I could wait if that stall would be helpful to her. She thanked me profusely, both in the restroom and in the lobby. It was nice, but also made me wonder if this isn't standard behavior? At the restaurant, a young man told me to go ahead of him. Maybe my age, or my gender? Very polite, but is that also to be expected? He might never get to take care of his business if he defers to older women each time. I see a difference, the disabled woman can only use the one particular stall, so should have dibs on it. The young man and I can use any stall, so we can each wait our turn. But anyhow, I did thank him also, and it is refreshing to encounter such nice manners.
I'm having trouble packing! This is my last opportunity to wear my summer clothes, until a potential trip to Florida in February. I want to bring all my favorites, but I'm only going for 4 nights, so definitely do not need my whole wardrobe. Yesterday, I had to give in and wear close toed shoes. Galveston will give me a few more days of sandals, before they also get stored until February.
Weight 119.2. Power is still on at our place in Florida, so we are leaving tomorrow.
The last friend checking in got to his mobile home in Venice late on Friday. The roof needs to be fixed, but didn't come completely off so it is still covered and habitable. It will have to be secured by a tarp until they can get someone to repair it. Less damage for him than from Hurricane Ian when he also lost his porch and carport. But he said his park is a mess with a lot of them more damaged than his. Even though they had no power, he was staying there hoping that it would come back on by the end of the day yesterday. It will be quite a while before everything can get cleaned up and fixed. It usually takes a couple of years after one of these big ones.
Today we need to make a dump run including dropping off some items at the swap shop there. I love the idea of a swap shop. Other than that just the usual Sunday morning breakfast, doing laundry and a long Justice walk. Hopefully it warms up some as it is 37 degrees right now. I can't wait for Florida warmth - it is supposed to be 50 degrees higher than this on Tuesday.
Have a superior Sunday!

After adopting Justice from a shelter and getting such a love bug I don't think I will ever have a puppy again so I won't have to make those decisions about spaying/neutering. But the times I did they were all spayed at around 6 months because that was what was recommended by their vets.

So the craft fair was a win in the end (though probably a boring day)!
