Scary about the missing young man. I hope they find him alive.
Nice that you are enjoying your visit - your trails in Sedona are so beautiful to hike!

I'm sure you will find the perfect place at the right time. Maybe with some frustration along the way but I'm sure that something will come up. Good to keep looking even if you aren't ready so you can get a feel of what you like, what locations are good, and what the likely cost will be. DD and BIL want to buy a different home next year and have been looking with that in mind. They saw a place that looked perfect but the price seemed low (too perfect). Then they read that it had to be purchased with all cash and found out that the septic system was failing and couldn't be brought up to code (the house was on a lake so septics have to follow stringent rules). Apparently not such a good deal so they knew that price point wasn't going to work.

You will bounce back down under 150. Your body is just messing with you. Great that DSD and fiancé like to spend so much time with you.

You are a true cook like Paula! Not so for me - it has to be easy and serve for at least 2 nights of meals.

We like comedies (especially Rom Coms) and police type shows - no totally dark or fantastical stuff. Goes with being old and not wanting to feel fearful I think.

Friday already...good heavens, where does the time go (and where was I when it took off so fast)?
Today was so mild and lovely, but will not linger. Last night got close enough to freezing that my project for the day was bringing the house plants inside for the winter. Sniping, pruning and washing baskets and pottery is doable, the puzzle was figuring out just where to put them. Am sure there will be grumbling, moaning, groaning, and demands from said plants for better placement and accommodations.
DH and I discovered an Amish grocery some few miles away that carries all sorts of unprocessed foods and ingredients. Dark rye flour and corse meal is setting on kitchen counter and fresh unpasteurized milk in 'fridge; tomorrow is bread baking and I'm going for a first attempt at making true fresh mozzarella.....
Woo-Hoos to Paula and Devon who are so successfully ticking away at those pounds. Definitely heading down the good path.
Hope all enjoying the rest of the evening and enjoy sweet dreams tonight!

Greetings all
It's sunny and calm here. Nice fall day. I am in adulting mode - well sort of. Have a list of business stuff to do and have done some of it.(ok, one was washing my hair). There are some art items I must complete before gallery duty tomorrow which will be a big yawn. The tourists have left the area.
Fun Liz to have a dress up night. What a concept! There might be such things around here but I don't know where. Enjoy and congrats on rocking maintenance. You are doing it!
Yeah Peps keep looking at properties. There is always another one out there. Low fire risk would be on my list. And dog friendly. That dinner sounds great.
Paula I vote for the dog nap. Sounds like a plan.
CC thats a lot of hiking. No wonder you are sore. And I bet it was not flat. Hope the missing guy is found soon.
When my hair dries I will waddle over to the gym and waddle some more. Then I need to root through all my stuff and find my hand massage gadget so I can work on stretching my fingers. I pretty much know what the pt stuff is and doctor just says to do it myself.
We started the new season of Bad Sisters. It's darker and less funny than the first one. Hope that changes. We prefer silly these days,
DH went out to lunch so there is fish and chips for tonight.
Well time to get back to my list. It will be dark in 3 hours and I don't get much done after dark.

Oops! Posted on the wrong day...
Haha, my bff has tried for years to get friends to address him as HRH, but to no avail.
Having a lovely time with my friend who is visiting. We are heading to Santa Fe on Sunday if significant snow stays out of the forecast for there. Currently watching search and rescue operations from here as a 25 year old has gone missing from the trailhead near my house. They found his car there, but no sign of him since the 9th. Not a good sign. A 69 years old woman with dementia wandered away from home Sunday and was found near my house the next afternoon. She thankfully was unharmed despite freezing temps. How lucky we are to wander through each day relatively unscathed!
Last night we went to dinner with my friend and neighbor. We had a great time. The food was amazing. It's the restaurant that books out 6 weeks in advance. I have decided to just get random reservations there each month. I can use them or give them to friends.
Bad timing, but I am getting my hair done today. Roots wait for no woman. My friend will wander old town Cottonwood to pass the time as the salon is there. Kirby has had a long walk this morning. We hiked (without him) yesterday for 5.4 miles. My feet and ankles were exhausted from all the rocky trails.
I should get moving... take care everyone!
219.4... Liz, our bodies are in sync! Yet again, precisely 100 pounds above you! LOL
Buster got a good grooming yesterday and looks pretty spiffy. After that another great workout. And once home, I cooked a magnificent dinner of thin cut rib eyes, roasted new Yukon Gold potatoes, and a nice chopped salad. Sometimes a good workout is really energizing.
I should probably stop looking at retirement locations. I found two "perfect" options, but still in California; two hours northeast of me. I'm not so sure staying in CA is the best idea. But one I could pretty much buy outright once I sell my current home and the property taxes would be lower. I kind of like that. Best is that it's on 3 acres and I could get a kennel license so my dogs would be a non issue. Whoo hooo! But, I'm not ready to do anything yet... so, it's a little frustrating to find a really good place and not being able to jump on it.
No dog shows this weekend. I'm looking forward to staying home this weekend. Not much else going on... Just waiting for 2 pm to start my weekend.
