Greetings all

Early for me but I am not going out today. Still have this nasty cold. I am doing a covid test but betting it's just a cold. I actually slept pretty well in spite of cough but getting tired of this. I took a "new" cold pill (one purchased yesterday and not 3 years expired) and I do think it has helped. For once I am grateful for DH stock up buying habits because we have a huge cache of kleenex. I am eating chicken broth and crackers twice a day and thats about it. (gee I sound like a man with a cold).

DD glad you survived the football game. Have a good day with your parents. I often have dreams of when our family was young and it's nice. Glad you do too. How is your brother holding up with his help duties?

Liz sorry the restaurant was full. At least you have a new car to ride around in! Looks like a good one. Hoping you are able to sleep. I think change of season has an impact.

We have been binge watching the second season of The Lincoln Lawyer. Its good. Watched the last of it last night. We watch way too much tv except I am usually playing iPad games and I seem to do better at picking up the house and doing chores if there is some kind of sound on. My hands are healing up pretty well but one finger is sort of numb still. Must email doctor.

Hmm covid test appears to be negative. yay

You finally don't have a to do list a mile long, and sleep eludes you. Rats. Hope it goes better tonight.

I had trouble falling asleep last night, but once I did, I slept well. I dreamed that somehow we got my parent's Florida house back and I was there with my parents. Lots of things were missing from the house, so my Mom and I were talking about shopping. I guess it makes sense my heart wants to go back there. The years my parents owned that house were probably our best as a family. They were as happy as they were ever going to be: retired, not anxious about money, health was good enough to allow them to do things they enjoy, my Mom looked like my Mom with pretty clothes, hair fixed, jewelry on, in her cute little house.

We'll go see them tomorrow after work for my Mom's birthday. Today I'll make the "hot dish" I'm bringing for supper, do some laundry and a bit of paperwork for a meeting I have tomorrow. All of it inside, where I'm warm!

Another week ends and a new one starts, and I'm another week closer to being retired!

Weight 119.4. The bus leaves soon (7:30), so this will be quick.

The car is an X3, not too small or big for me. It has parking assist on it so can park itself perpendicular or parallel. I haven't tried it yet but have watched a few videos on how to use it.

We went out last night to get dinner at a place we go to often and couldn't get a seat. We ended up back at home after a couple of drinks while trying to wait out the crowd and ate part of a frozen dinner. Yuck.

Sleep was elusive last night. Hopefully I am not starting a streak of insomnia.

Time to get going. Have a super Sunday!

The dress looks fine - that type is supposed to be short. You look fantastic!

So sorry you were cold at the game. I would hate it too - I am a fair weather fan (needs to be warm and dry for me to enjoy a game).

Cold or COVID - get well soon! It stinks to get sick just before you are hosting a party.

X3 - the X1 is too small and the X5 too big. I'm like Goldilocks.

If that's about Liz's car, I don't know what it is either!

Liz, help us out. :)

Sorry you feel yucky, Diane!

DD, you didn't look miserable in your game pics! Excellent job putting on a happy face!

Cute car Liz! Looks like an X3?

Paula, enjoy the comedy show!

The plein air art show was loads of fun. My friend and I ended up on their Instagram. I posted on TT. My dress is too short! Perhaps I just need pictures of all my outfits, because I would have sworn this one covered more.

Today was a trip to Home Depot for plastic plant saucers for inside a new basket I bought for a new indoor tree. I also bought a very cute ponytail palm for my living room table. Hope I can keep them both alive. I don't have the best luck with houseplants.

I think that's all I know. Take care all!

Liz, that is a fine looking automobile! I love my little SUV (Chevy Equinox). I like being a little higher up, but not too high, and getting in and out is smooth. My BIL has a Cadillac Escalade (the last of an era), very nice riding, but it takes some doing to pull myself up and in.

Ah Diane, sorry you have crud. Stuff is going around for sure, some of it Covid, and some of it other virus concoctions. Either way, you fell crappy. Get better soon.

Paula sounds like you're having a nice visit with your DSD.

I'm sure I could have enjoyed the football game on a 70 degree day, but 56, with a wind, mostly in the shade= misery. I tried to dress warm, and even brought a blanket. I also tried to keep a game face because DH does so much that I want to do, and I want to do for him too. But geeze I hate being cold. And why are football minutes so ridiculously long? We were there for HOURS. Anyhow, we're home now, and DH is getting a fire going, so the family room should be toasty warm soon. Maybe I'll ask for an old fashioned for good measure.
