In Massachusetts it is like what CC described - you have to go to periodic events where they take electronics, hazardous waste etc. However there are also junk removal people who can take that stuff and dispose of it at anytime. Florida is easier. There is a place nearby which services my county and you can go there anytime during the week to dispose of all that stuff. Your realtor should be able to help advise.

My current county has annual electronic and hazardous waste events where they collect all that stuff for proper disposal. In my last city, they had a center where you could drop all that stuff off any day.

The drought has ended! Most of yesterday and all of last night it rained, with rain predicated all of today and tomorrow. The interwebs are predicting that these three days of rain will have dropped at least 8 inches on my 25 acres and possibly more. Yoo-hoo!

Lots to get done today. It's time to nail down a moving company. Whoever I choose has to be able to handle my grand piano.

Quick question--where do y'all get rid of old technology in a responsible way? I'm talking about everything from printers, laptops, monitors, phones, batteries, old charging cords, etc.?

118.2

Yesterday we didn't do much other than lie around the beach club and have leftovers last night. Life gets busy going forward so a day of rest is nice.

I did talk to all 3 kids and touched base with SIL and BIL yesterday. Christmas is finalized finally: my nephew and his wife are hosting for the first time. They have the only little one (4) and a house well-suited for parties as well as being close to several other family members. So a few of us will use a hotel that night but I was able to book a one bedroom dog friendly suite which makes it easier. Some family drama was unveiled. Life is never simple is it?

Today is the usual 3 mile dog walk. People are always amazed that our little chihuahua walks that much but it is truly the highlight of his day. Many twirls in the living room when he realizes we are getting ready. After that I have water aerobics, DH has a doctor appointment, then shopping so I can cook tonight. I might start painting an end table that I like but is too dark and won't go with the new chairs I have ordered. We were supposed to go out on a boat but we need to cancel for the second time as it is just too windy. We are definitely fair-weather boaters.

Have a minimalist Monday!

Greetings all

A sunny fall day here. DH and I are still sniffling and coughing. Ready to be done with this. I spent the day piddling around the house and doing endless laundry. We have about 8 fluffy throws on the sofa to protect from the dogs and they all need washing.

Yay sounds like most of us slept well and made it through the time change. Me too.

Liz that party sounds great. Glad it was fun.

Peps, there you go, two pounds lost following rant. What can we learn from this?

And yeah music in school is so important. So is visual art but something about music is almost organic - like it's part of our blood and as important as oxygen. Your kids are lucky to have you as a teacher and such a good program.

Paula glad the new church is working out. It matters.

Gallery duty for me tomorrow. It will be slow so I must bring toys. Also kiln opens. And a new gallery issue. A person that I dislike is applying for membership. Do I engineer her demise or do I just blow it off. Yeah, I know....

Ann we are glad to hear the remodeling is under way and that you have input but don't have to do all the effort. You are lucky to have a DF who is decor sensitive.

Well it's November which means I have to do year end business planning. Mainly, how much money do we have and how should we spend it?

DD thanks for the review of Disclaimer. We have been considering that show and will likely watch it. Anything to keep DH from watching the creepy show Kaos.

LOL! I don't have nearly as much energy for it that my DF does. It's his jam, not mine, but I'm definitely participating.

I just don't have the energy for that level of improvements!

I'm back in my home now. I drove from KY yesterday and got to town just in time to join a lovely catered dinner party for eight, lots of interesting talk, truly delish foods, whiskeys and wines. I got home a little after 9 and should have slept better than I did. But I'll do so tonight. :) I'll be here until Thanksgiving week.

Re my home sale, I'm on the downhill run, but still so much more to get done.

I weighed this morning and was 3.5 pounds lighter than a week ago today when I drove to KY. Yes, I was active there, but certainly not active enough to translate to -10,500 deficit calories. Scales are NOT the most exquisite judge of what's happening with my own unique metabolism. Or anyone else's I'll wager!

Our remodel project is about to begin, and we're so happy with our contractors and subs. We've looked at all kinds of bath and kitchen appliances, fixtures, cabinets, lights, tiles, wallpaper, architectural salvage, etc., bought a beautiful living room rug, and debated and negotiated "What I think we should do is ..." commentary. We're having fun!

Finally, it's been a cloudy, moist day here, ranging from thick downpour to sprinkles. This pattern will continue until midnight. It's very welcome--this fall has been a dry, dry season here.

153.0. New low for this try at weight loss, but not really expecting it to stay. Too many ups and downs as of late!

Good church service again today. I'm feeling better about making the switch and feel like it was the right move! They did Baptisms today (adult full body immersion) which always touches my heart! Tears of joy for changed lives! The message was about having having "critical conversations " with others and how to go about it. I've never enjoyed conflict but learning conflict resolution skills is always a good thing. I'm getting better at it with age!

Making homemade vegetable beef soup for dinner. DC1 hanging out! DSD and fiancé left at 6:00 am. Long drive back home to Bismarck ND!

Cold and wet weather today. Will snuggle up under the covers with a dog or two soon! We love our naps!
