Lucky you! I swear, if we had a RH gallery here like that I'd go once a week just to visit my Italian sofa. For those who care, it's called "Matteo." That's Italian for Matthew, and he is so sexy!

Greetings earthlings

The sun is setting on this fine sunny day. House got cleaned, I did my time on the treadmill, and then went to the studio. Made some new things. Studio buddy showed up with her endless list of gripes but she is pretty amusing. Gets nothing done due to talking. Oh well. Caught up on some gossip and such. Pot pie for tonight and all is good.

Liz sorry your SIL is having continued issues. No fun. Bet you are indeed looking forward to being home for awhile.

Yeah Peps those scale numbers can be unnerving. We should not allow the tyranny of the scale (easier said than done). good deal on the van and services. Your dinner makes me think of all the "diet plates" that restaurants had - hamburger patty, cottage cheese and sliced tomatoes. Not a bad plan actually.

Hmmm Ann I think you should splurge on the sofa. Enjoy the decorating.

And yeah CC, some of us don;t measure like runway models. So what. No clue what I measure these days - too scared to check.

DD cheers for your DH and the battery rescue. He deserves the tacos.

Not much else. Gallery lease negotiations have gone sideways and it's driving me nuts. Think i will ignore it for awhile.

Liz your SIL has done very well indeed continuing on in the face of a tough, tough disease. My Mom is almost 14 years out from her initial diagnosis of lung cancer. She has had 2 additional tumors pop up after her initial surgery. 1 treated with chemo, 1 with radiation.

Today's annoyance: my car battery decided to die when I was leaving work. I would have preferred it refused to start in the morning, but no. Luckily, we live close by and DH was home, so he was there with the jumper cables in about 15 minutes. He is now in the garage, replacing it with the new one he just bought. In gratitude, I made the white guy tacos for him. When he came to get me he said, I haven't started dinner yet. As if I am going to expect him to rescue me, install a new battery AND make dinner? That's too much to expect, even if he is as Ann Wilson of Heart described, A Magic Man.

We started watching No Good Deed (Ray Romano and Lisa Kudrow). I can recommend it. We have 2 episodes left. Last night we switched gears and watched a music documentary on Yacht Rock, one of my favorite genres. It was on HBO Max. If you like Steely Dan, Toto, and the Doobie Brothers, check it out.

It has to be a satisfying thing to know someone with real dog expertise will look after your pack when you're gone. Good pet sitters are invaluable!

We have a Restoration Hardware here also, with an incredible rooftop restaurant, with huge plants, fountains, chandeliers... We had Christmas Eve dinner there, the one and only time I've eaten there. Must go back.

White sofa sounds delicious! Yum. Did you buy it?

Oh, woe is me.... 213.0

Just kidding... up 0.2 from yesterday. But I did enjoy 212 for two days so I did give the scale the bird this morning! LOL! Funny how a change in the ones digit can be such a niggly little *****! Somehow I think you, my people, will understand that f'd up thought process.

Got my flu and covid vaccines yesterday after school. Went home made a cup of coffee, ate a protein bar and followed up with a great workout. Ron went to a liturgy meeting so dinner was simple: a hamburger patty and some cottage cheese. I know that seems like very little and lacking a vegetable, but it was enough for last night. Sometimes I have days like that. BTW, it was a third pound patty, not a baby burger.

Busy after school day today. Staff meeting, followed by a trip to AAA to make sure the old Ford van is properly registered and documented before selling it to my dog sitter/puppy owner. He and his wife are wonderful young people and are serious about getting into dog showing and breeding. I'm so happy to find someone who will appreciate the van and needs it for dogs. We have worked out a "trade" agreement. He'll give me a little cash and then work off the balance in June taking care of the dogs while Ron and I are on our European river cruise. Pretty much a win-win for everyone.

Afterwards, I hope to hit the gym for "leg day" followed with some cardio. Yesterday was back day and cardio. I'll do a push pull tomorrow and then will be done with the gym for the rest of the week, unless otherwise inspired.

We have California cold today! Ice on my windshield this morning and about 35 degrees. Brrrr.... I know, shut up! But it's cold to me!

Wish filled Wednesday to all!

It wasn't. But waist to hip ratio and waist circumference standards are often mentioned as an alternative to BMI.

I was unable to watch the video, but was able to read the article. Saw no mention of criteria. Was it in the video? I still think the best way to determine a health level when it comes to excess weight is to focus on body fat percentages. Like CC says, no pleasing everyone, but seems to me that body fat level is the real indicator of obesity and metabolic disease.

And this is what 6 months of selling 2 homes, buying a 3rd home, relocating permanently to a new city, and getting married looks like for an old lady. Before this I was happy to be at 135-140, but as I've said before I don't hate this new set point range. And I'd still be happy at 135-140.

I feel like exhaling and relaxing for a while. As Diane said earlier, I sincerely think we're ALL killing it, given our weight/eating/upbringing backgrounds and challenges. VSG made our (currently) healthy lives possible, and our work since then (of various kinds) has continued to keep us upright and mobile since then. I salute us all!
