The cold air has arrived. Blustery cold front is bringing us a real taste of late fall. There are freeze warnings tonight, so I need to remember to bring in my houseplants that spend the summer on my shady porch.
I hadn't weighed myself for various reasons for a couple of days. I'm always anxious when I miss days, anticipating an unpleasant surprise when I get back to the scale. It's all good, my weight is staying within the same 2 pound range.
We enjoyed the show we saw yesterday. Afterwards we tried a new restaurant, a distillery actually. We were impressed with the food and whiskey. I also loved that although it was a big open space, and there were several large groups, the noise level was quite tolerable. Not a fan of some of these incredibly loud places.
Both the theater and the restaurant have co ed bathrooms, which leads to interesting etiquette. At the theater, the handicapped stall opened when it was my turn. The woman behind me had a walker, so I told her I could wait if that stall would be helpful to her. She thanked me profusely, both in the restroom and in the lobby. It was nice, but also made me wonder if this isn't standard behavior? At the restaurant, a young man told me to go ahead of him. Maybe my age, or my gender? Very polite, but is that also to be expected? He might never get to take care of his business if he defers to older women each time. I see a difference, the disabled woman can only use the one particular stall, so should have dibs on it. The young man and I can use any stall, so we can each wait our turn. But anyhow, I did thank him also, and it is refreshing to encounter such nice manners.
I'm having trouble packing! This is my last opportunity to wear my summer clothes, until a potential trip to Florida in February. I want to bring all my favorites, but I'm only going for 4 nights, so definitely do not need my whole wardrobe. Yesterday, I had to give in and wear close toed shoes. Galveston will give me a few more days of sandals, before they also get stored until February.
Weight 119.2. Power is still on at our place in Florida, so we are leaving tomorrow.
The last friend checking in got to his mobile home in Venice late on Friday. The roof needs to be fixed, but didn't come completely off so it is still covered and habitable. It will have to be secured by a tarp until they can get someone to repair it. Less damage for him than from Hurricane Ian when he also lost his porch and carport. But he said his park is a mess with a lot of them more damaged than his. Even though they had no power, he was staying there hoping that it would come back on by the end of the day yesterday. It will be quite a while before everything can get cleaned up and fixed. It usually takes a couple of years after one of these big ones.
Today we need to make a dump run including dropping off some items at the swap shop there. I love the idea of a swap shop. Other than that just the usual Sunday morning breakfast, doing laundry and a long Justice walk. Hopefully it warms up some as it is 37 degrees right now. I can't wait for Florida warmth - it is supposed to be 50 degrees higher than this on Tuesday.
Have a superior Sunday!

After adopting Justice from a shelter and getting such a love bug I don't think I will ever have a puppy again so I won't have to make those decisions about spaying/neutering. But the times I did they were all spayed at around 6 months because that was what was recommended by their vets.

So the craft fair was a win in the end (though probably a boring day)!

Really interesting (and thought-provoking) information. Thanks!

Greetings from iPad. Oh was uncooperative earlier. I got my walking done and did studio work plus started trip prep by getting. Dh to remove guest room junk. Sheets washed. More to go tomorrow.the goal is to avoid rush hour traffic so want to get to hotel by 4
liz glad the house is done and tha fla home is safe. I agree with peps that peta and other groups push early neutering etc. my niece the vet checked her puppy from me at age two and was satisfied her growth plates were good before spay. Poppy.s spay cost $900 here and neutering is less. Shop around. My brother was thinking of visiting here for dog dental as it's stupid expensive where he is.
more when I have a keyboard, all is good

Nuts right? She was expecting them to say it would be $1000 or so because everything is more expensive here, but that that about knocked her out of her chair.
Wow! If my Dad had charged $5000 for a spay our lives sure would have been different! That's beyond crazy.
157.something. This morning was so long ago!
Craft show was very slow but at the very end another vendor bought several items from me so the end result was about what I usually take in at a fair and the vendor fee to participate was much cheaper!
Stephen's Ministry obligations at church tomorrow and then hopefully I can get motivated to get some much needed housework done!
Both dogs each got chocolate toxicity twice from dark chocolate (which is worse than milk chocolate). Their small size didn't help either. $2,000 plus vet bill! Not fun!
