We started the Lincoln Lawyer on your recommendation. Very good so far!

Greetings all

More sun today though it rained heavily last night. Between that and coughing it was a noisy night for DH. But I am happily tripping along on my cold pill - no wonder they are used to make illegal drugs. So I picked up and delivered payroll and stopped at CVS to get coffee. They were out of what I want so I might be forced to order from Amazon. ick. Then on to the studio to pick up new stuff. Hauled it up to the gallery and picked up cash for deposit. Beautiful drive up the coast.

Yeah I am with Peps - I like fall back but hate spring forward. During my working years it felt like I had a little extra me time on that one day. But soon it will be dark by 5 pm and I don't like that. Many years ago I went to the Philippines. It's close to the equator so the difference in day length is not much. Dark at 6 pm no matter what. I do enjoy changes in seasons.

Yay Paula on progress. And yay for soup. My favorite thing too. The chili I have been threatening to make for days is going to happen tonight. Burger needs to be cooked. So we will eat healthy for a few days. Not tempted by all the halloween candy.

So last night DH left a dish of potato salad on his chair arm while he attended to Tesla. Well, Poppy seized the opportunity and helped herself to it. Tee Hee I think it was a plot by the two dogs to distract DH.

We started a new series called Kaos last night. It's the idea that the greek gods from Mount olympus are real and in the present day. Jeff Goldblum is Zeus. Not sure if I like it but DH does. I think its kind of making fun of religion in general.

I attempted to call the doctor's office with the idea of scoring some codeine cough syrup. Could not even get a call through. I have a bottle of the stuff but it's 12 years old. Might be ok for scotch but probably not medicine.

153.7, finally broke that 154-155 stall (at least for today).

The "kids" and I went to the pumpkin patch today. My big indulgence was a Lavender Latte! Picked up an apple pie and some apple muffins. I might have a bite or two of the pie tonight, or maybe not. The kids all got a caramel apple. I wasn't even tempted in the least! Thank goodness for the GLP 1 and I'm on a reduced dose this week!

Making homemade chicken noodle soup for dinner with either rosemary focaccia bread or just crusty bread (I have both). I love soup season!

I am very much looking forward to the upcoming time change. I don't like the early evenings, but I do love that first day of either extra sleep or leisurely morning! The "spring forward" time change is the one that is hard for me as I've gotten older. Probably because I'm not naturally an early morning person (unless a dog show is involved).

I decided to go up to the 15 mg dose of tirzepatide. The little bit extra I took last Thursday, coupled with a good session with the nutritional therapist, kicked the weight loss into gear again. I'm now just a single pound away from breaking into that new decade! Busy dog show weekends sure do help weight loss.

My biggest issue now with continued weight loss is letting old behaviors creep back in - especially in times of stress and times when I am over scheduled. With the advent of Food Season this week (though honestly it started at most of the schools several weeks ago), I decided to put some "rules" in place. The main one for this week is that I will not eat a Reese's peanut butter cup of any sort until AFTER Halloween. I also have to commit to eating a little more protein at breakfast, which is not hard. I just sometimes don't think to pack an extra egg or other healthy breakfast fare. A Quest Bar is so easy to grab, tastes great, is easy eat, but it's not enough for someone of my size. I absolutely have to eat more solid protein early in the day.

Must go to Costco tonight. I'm completely out of coffee and that just won't do! I suppose I should get some Halloween candy to pass out, too. Oh, and I need to bathe Buster to get all the product out of his coat. And of course, there is my training session at 5 pm... I really do need to stop working so I can have time for my regularly scheduled life! LOL!

And for this week's Halloween theme.... I wish everyone a Morbid Monday!

Weight 118.8.

Starting to dread the thought of the upcoming time change. It is always difficult for me to adjust. I have a tough enough time staying asleep until 6:30 am. I am afraid I will be up before 5:30 am and exhausted by 9 pm. I need to start pushing back Justice's eating time too so he doesn't feel starved.

My plan today is to get started with water aerobics finally, do some food shopping, then be here for the guy who is going to replace the garage door opener. It is 16 years old so I guess it is time. We are actually cooking at home for dinner for the first time since we arrived 2 weeks ago.

Have a marvelous Monday!

Great to make a home together isn't it? My DH says he doesn't care what I do but that is false because he definitely has opinions on what he likes or not. For instance he didn't like how dark the living/dining room was here. It was dark because it was painted in very dark gray and the paint soaked up all the light, plus the furniture was all dark leather and dark wood. Now with the wall half white, a light paint above and a white couch it is nice and bright.

I thought the BMW emblem was showing LOL. DH and I both like the make. His last 4 cars were BMWs and my last 3 convertibles up north were. So though we considered other makes we felt most comfortable getting a BMW. An added benefit is that though the car is 7 years newer than our other cars, the instruments/features are still quite similar. The unparking isn't great in the car - it can only back up by following the same path it took to get into a spot. In other words you can't come out facing the other direction. But I think that when it perpendicular parks it actually backs in so you can drive right out - we shall see when I try it out.

We are also not fans of dealing with trick or treaters and dogs. Luckily there aren't any here. I have carved a pumpkin periodically after my kids became adults but not this year since I didn't get one for decorating.

I finally understand what kind of car you guys bought, Liz. I didn't know it was a BMW until I looked up "X3". DF has a Touareg, which I love, but it would definitely be too big for you. I love the self-parking ability of a car--can't wait until we have one. Parking and unparking (is that a word?) is definitely one of my skills that has diminished over the years.

Yesterday I drove back to Kentucky with a fully packed car. It was a long day, but I had no tire or other car issues. DF has medical appointments this week, which he wants me to be present for. Today we'll be looking at cabinets for kitchen, closets, bathrooms, etc., a big TV, drapes, etc.--none of which we'll buy, but just taste-test and educate ourselves about. I think we're going to have a lot of fun making this house our home. DF is delighted--he's in his element.

Boy, it's dark o'clock in the morning these days. More coffee. Y'all have a good one. :)
