Well it's raining again, as I sit on my covered porch. We managed to get some outdoorsy Iiving in between bands of rain. Yesterday it rained in the morning and afternoon, and stopped long enough to complete a baseball game, and to shoot off fireworks. It started pouring on the drive home. This morning when we got up, no rain. We hurried off to our coffee shop, and passed a nice hour on the sidewalk seating. Fun to see the parade of city dogs out for their morning walk before the rain set in. Which it did.

Peps, I hear you about those quality of life issues like shoelaces. I appreciate how much easier it is to touch up my pedicure between visits. :) 12 years after surgery I am still very grateful for things like knowing the airplane seat belt will fit, and that the tray table can be lowered. I no longer worry about being pinched by theater seats, or exceeding the weight limit of my folding lawn chair. Overall mobility is so much better. The first big post surgery weight loss (140 pounds), let me out of my fat prison. This Wegovy fueled 40 pound regain loss showed me that I had slowly lost some freedom, that I didn't know had slipped away until some regain was gone. That's good for me to know, and fight against in the future.

I have considered that the drugs may become less effective over time. If and when that happens, I'm hoping there is something even better to try. DD tells me that are new drugs being tested currently that appear to outperform our current options. And oral drugs too, which I imagine might be more cost effective. I will say though, 13 months of Wegovy and I have ridiculous restriction some days, and other days I can eat what feels like a lot. Although probably is all of 1,400 on the BIG eating days. I don't take the highest dose yet either. So I'm hopeful that the medications will supply at least some long-term help.

Interesting point about my hunger feelings. Definitely "food" for thought.

Definitely a good problem! I always feel that way when I go from one place to another.

I like your idea of feeding emotional needs. After surgery, I used to ask myself, what are you really hungry for?I'd spent so much time trying to quell every hunger with food, that I didn't really know what else I was craving, like music , art, time in meditation, nature... I'm more aware of these hungers now, but it's a good reminder to check in with myself.

Next week! Although I am really enjoying Sedona even if it's hot. It's so beautiful, my house is coming together, I like my friends. I kind of don't want to leave! But I will feel the same in MI, not wanting to leave. It's a good problem to have.

Oh, I had a delightful rest! I was curled up in bed by 10:30 and even though I awakened about every two hours, I was plenty rested and feeling fine when it was time to get out of bed around 6:30. I was at the fairgrounds shortly after 7:30. We don't show until 12:45, but I have a drive in spot, which means I have to be on the grounds prior to 8 am. We are having a relaxing morning. It's a glorious, bright blue morning here in the PNW - even a bit "chilly" in the shade. I watched some of the obedience dogs this morning. WOW! So impressive. I don't have that kind of patience for training, yet am awe struck by what those dogs learn to do.

No gut issues today. Hoping last week's issues were a fluke and perhaps more related to something I ate rather than the tirzepatide. And luckily, the issues were pretty short lived.

I am happily upping my dose to 10 mg the week after next. I'm still roughly 50 pounds heavier than than CC, so I figure the larger dose is more suited to my body size.

I noticed last night (again) how quickly I am able to fill up. Because I am traveling and without a kitchen, I am relegated to restaurant food. I ordered a burger from Carl's Jr. I got rid of half the bun and ate the burger open faced and still was unable to fini**** That result must be a combination of the med and VSG. I love the slow down of gastric emptying, which really helps the sleeve mechanism, I believe. The structure of the sleeve makes it a high pressure and rapid gastric emptying mechanism. The GLP-1 slows the emptying process (which allows for feeling full longer and a reduction of sugars released into the small intestine). I am truly hoping that tirzepatide is the missing link for me. I will gladly pay the out of pocket for this med as long as it keeps working for me. It's a game changer, for sure!

Well, I must start the beautification process of Molly. Wish us luck today!

Yes.... Satisfactive Saturday! I like that word. It should not be "obsolete".
