What a great idea those carpet tiles are!
Enjoy the fireworks! It's too involved for us to go as the traffic to go to our friend's home where we would park is typically horrific from about 6 pm on even though the fireworks are at 9. Then the traffic after the fireworks is just as bad and we wouldn't get home until 11. So we pass on it.

Happy 4th! Mine started with Kirby throwing up on the living room rug. But they are Flor carpet tiles, so I pulled the two up, washed in the sink and put out on the deck to dry. Can't beat it, other than to have a non-pukey dog.
Yesterday I stripped all the dog-dirty covers off the sectional and washed them, then put them all back on (11 cushions and 3 frame covers). My hands are killing me. I got blanket-like sofa covers in the same whitish cream from Amazon and threw those on. They look pretty good for what they are and he has already anointed them with mouth dirt on the arm and one area of the seat. Where the mouth dirt comes from, I don't know! Looks like mud, but it's not muddy here despite the rain.
We went out to dinner last night and I gained more weight. Dammit. Now 1.8 up from my low in a week. And tonight we are going to a friend's pig roast. I just want to go back to my solitary food bubble. I can't be trusted to eat with others even medicated!
Nothing else planned today. We always have a great view of the private fireworks displays with the way our houses face and the curve of the shoreline. Makes for a solid wall of fireworks for over an hour. Every year I wonder how many fingers will be lost tonight given the giant mortar fireworks can be bought on every corner. Fingers crossed for Kirby. We've had a few practice fireworks around us that he's been getting used to. Tonight is the big test.
Aside from that, no big plans. Hope you all enjoy your day!
Selling two homes in a short period of time is certainly stressful. I have been involved in selling 3 over the last 2 years, but luckily the 2 in Florida didn't involve any decluttering, just moving out some furniture at the end. This house is a different story.
December closing? That gives you a lot of time. I'm hoping for an October closing (after DD's wedding) but people tend to be in a hurry here on Cape Cod so we shall see if that works.

We have no 4th celebratory plans. Our big thing today will be doing weed control in a woodland along my driveway. We're hoping for more rain--high here today will be 94 and humid.
I'm making good progress on home repairs required before my house sale closes this December. And declutterring continues. All that makes for little time left to post here or anywhere online about anything. I do love reading about everyone's lives and thoughts. Thank you.
About weight ... the stresses this year of getting two homes ready to sell and months of packing, storing, moving, declutterring have had me in weight-loss mode, which I actually don't want to be in at this point. Yes, I look fine, but I never set out to be skinny (I'm at the mid-point of BMI "normal" right now.)
I think it's time for more desserts in my life. I also need some new clothes that fit. Now that sounds like two good reasons for a field trip to a big city, eh?

You have certainly had a full trip in San Diego. Makes me want to go there (I was only there once about 40 years ago for a conference).

Love my Dyson, which is an awesome vacuum. And I also love my Roomba. They're good for different things.
I love closing the door to my white-carpeted bedroom and letting the Roomba do its thing.

I'm with you on 90 minute programs. 45-60 minutes is my limit in general. DS seems to like the longer programs though. Maybe it is an age thing? We don't have as much time left to waste.

Happy July 4th! I hope you all have good weather today for whatever you are doing.
DD and her fiancé arrived late last night after we had already gone to bed. Prior to that we had a nice visit with DH's family at dinner with the meal cooked on the new fancy Weber grill they bought for the house with DH's credit card. I ate what I felt like with no guilt - most of a hot dog and some potato salad.
Today we are having a cookout with my family. The plan is a burger without a bun and salad.
Most of the major house stuff is done other than staging, fixing some exterior paint on the house, removing more of DS's items to the storage unit, and taking difficult to throw away items like electronics to the proper waste facility. Hopefully DD's fiancé will be here long enough that we can get the 2 latter items done with his pickup truck. My realtor friend is coming Monday to walk through and let me know if anything else needs to be done before we put it on the market in about 11 days or so.
Today is injection day, meaning tomorrow is weigh-in day. No clue what that will bring. I feel I have mostly eaten what I wanted but not in great quantity.
Have an idiomorphic Independence Day!
