Congrats on your first class upgrade. Good of the airline to make it up to y'all that way.

What the heck day is it anyway? These middle of the week holidays especially with tourist traffic restrictions make it really confusing.

Pleasing news yesterday. I have 3 90+ year old handmade quilts made by my great-grandmother which my kids don't want. I reached out to my nephew and wife and they would love to have them. I had a feeling they might. It really pleases me. So I will be boxing them up and sending them to Washington state this week.

I hate overcast, rainy weather. It is warm, almost tropical but the lack of light seriously affects my mood. DH made a reservation at a place on a marina tonight but unless it improves we will be cancelling. It is a great place when the weather is good, not so much otherwise.

DS just got up and announced that he feels sick. Just what the household needs.

I am starting to wonder what happens with maintenance on tirzepatide. Do I stay on the current dose and try eating more or do I step down on the dose or timing until my appetite equals my maintenance calories? And what source can I work with to lower the cost if I am reducing the dose? Last time I googled it I couldn't find a lot of guidance on what works best for most people.

Today's plan is meet friends for coffee, do some more house staging, and go out for date night. I hope my mental enthusiasm increases - a bit more light would help.

Have a salutiferous Saturday!

Thanks for all of the protein suggestions. I boiled up a dozen eggs this morning and made 2 of them into modified deviled eggs for lunch and added a beef stick for the extra protein. The modification was using Walden Farms honey Dijon mustard instead of mayo. Their dressings have zero calories, carbs, sugar etc. I used their dressing in a past weight loss program in egg salad and remembered it worked pretty well.

We had flash flooding today. Ended up with a little pond in the backyard. We were out shopping and the rain was coming down so hard it was hard to see the road. 5 inches in one hour! A dam broke in a community about an hour away. What a mess!

I'm actually finding it hard to get 1000 calories in at this point. I have to eat with a purpose for sure. Got a variety pack of pure protein ready made shakes. Hope I like them. I'm giving up on the protein powder I bought! I think it has been the biggest contributor to my GI woes.

Nothing much going on except shopping and cooking today. DS #2 comes home tonight, DS #3 comes home tomorrow and DC #1 will pop in as they can between work. Tomorrow we need to cut down a tree that unfortunately didn't survive the curb appeal we put around it a few years ago (root had to be cut to put in the curbing). It was a beautiful Autumn Blaze maple too! Darn it all! It still has a few green leaves on it but is for sure dying and we don't want buyers next year having to deal with it or making us deal with it at the very end! We jacked up a sinking landing to our steps also for that very reason! The joys of owning (and selling) a home! It will be me doing a major clean out like Liz next year.

Greetings all

It's sunny here and almost hot! We are comfortable but much of CA is having a serious heat wave. Friends need to go south for medical tests and were going to go inland to see a friend but decided against it because its 110 in sacramento. No thanks.

So we had lunch at the Chinese buffet. DH and his buddy always want to go there when other buddy is out of town. That one hates Asian food. Oddly, he is driving to Reno which sounds horrible to me.

So we watched 4 episodes of Griselda last night. Great show. I looked up the real Griselda and yikes what a vicious person. they named the 4th kid Don Corleone. I think she killed all of her husbands. Kind of like Breaking Bad South American style.

Last night's steak was good. No clue whats tonight. Did not bring home Chinese buffet food. Freezer spelunking is in order.

Liz it might be kind of hard to leave that house but after fixing and cleaning and all that work on it you will be glad to leave. We did this with our Omaha house that was twice as big as what we have now. By the time we got out of there I was so done with it.

Yeah CC I seem to go in cycles. Some days I want to snack and snack and others I don't. I can't really correlate it with anything except when I am home all day with no plans I seem to snack more. Note to self: be busy.

Paula was asking about extra protein items. Another good thing is pumpkin seeds. Costco has them roasted and they are good. I think they are the highest protein of any seed stuff. Also string cheese.

DD glad you got a respite from travel. You need a catch up day. Yay for First Class.

I think I need to open the front door and let the breeze in. Thats how warm it is!

Nice that you got a break today after a delayed travel day. Cool that you rode first class!

Yeah, ticks are gross. Once I find one I always worry if there is another hidden on Justice or me.

I am like DD. Sometimes more hungry than other times but it does give me a good stop signal and I am not craving the stuff that is usually my downfall. But I am also not a big social eater in that I eat less around other people than otherwise. My downfall is snacking more than anything. So it helps me largely because of the reduced cravings (don't go looking for snacks all the time).

Yeah for DDs fiance having a truck. Invaluable! I imagine you feel a little lighter each time a load leaves your house.

We had an adventure yesterday. We got to the airport extra early because we thought there might be traffic snarls due to the holiday. San Diego looks like it goes all out for the 4th, which makes sense since it has so many navy and marine bases in the vicinity. Turns out we didn't need to get there early, because our plane had no pilot, and we had to wait for them to arrive on a different flight. So the delay was 4 hours. Delta removed some of the sting by bumping us up to 1st class. Since I've never traveled for work, or ever earned 1st class money, this was the only time I've been so upgraded. It was fun. :) I think getting upgraded to Comfort + or even the exit row is a big coup. It's going to be difficult when I return to steerage in a couple of weeks.

Looks like it rained and stormed quite a bit while we were gone. No worries about my flowers, they were well watered. It's fall temps today, partly cloudy, and will probably rain again over the next few days. We are sunburned (opps!) from San Diego and thankful for a stretch of sunny days.

My parents had unexpected company yesterday (which I like, because they need some novelty once in awhile), but now they are tired, and asked us not to come today. That actually works well for us. Now I can unpack and wash clothes, and get some groceries. We will go tomorrow instead.

My appetite has been all over the place with these meds. Sometimes I can't eat at all, other times I am hungry and eating every couple of hours. It does give me a good stop signal though, almost always.

The pig roast at friends was okay. I enjoyed talking to the friends, but didn't know anyone else and they (40 or so people) are all related, so were into catching up with themselves family reunion style. So we left around 7, home hours before fireworks. We had the gray and dreary day yesterday with rain this morning. Steamy now (RIP my hair) and more rain later.

Down a pound of my 2 pound bounce up this morning, but even though I've done okay weight loss-wise, I am no Liz! I still want to eat even on the new 10mg. And it's harder here in MI as it's one long foodfest from June through September. A little disheartening as I would love to not have an appetite on this, but I absolutely do. I'm not going to forget to eat, have to force a few bites, or eat under 1000 a day. It's still a struggle for me to not overeat. Hard not to compare my experience to others and be bummed it doesn't work as well for me!

Kirby did great with the fireworks! So proud of him.

I should probably take him for a walk. We walked a little over 2 miles yesterday and he brought home a tick. Blech.

Have a great day!

I wish they had good trackers like that for when deceased DH was in wandering mode. They were some but they were very expensive and didn't work half the time.
