They threw you into a gen ed elementary room with no warning? Indeed a malleable Monday! The kids got a good deal. :)

Oh my, it's Monday! And a malleable Monday it had to be! I got to my first school to find out my first class had no teacher and no sub. So, I stepped up and took over. Got the kids, did morning stuff and then got into the music lesson. By 9:00 am, still no sub so I continued on as a sub. The office alerted the teacher of my next class I would not be coming. Was kind of fun for me to see that I still "have it" by creating a writing lesson on the fly and watching the students dig into it. By 9:40 the sub arrived and I went back to business as usual. I'm already at school #2 for the day and on my lunch break.

Weight was down another 1.5 pounds today. Not sure what that's about or if it will stick, but it felt good to see that I am only a tenth of a pound from my next mini goal - at least today. My range is headed in the right direction. Making grown up choices that correlate with my weight goals is paying off....DUH... Just have to keep it up. One foot in front of the other... I get to celebrate today that I am down 61 pounds from my high weight last December. Pretty cool for not "dieting".

Found a new protein shake that is a Fairlife knock off. It is called Nurri. I got it at Costco. It's the same ultra filtered skim milk that Fairlife uses for its shakes. I think I prefer the Fairlife, but the Nurri is a less expensive alternative and does have a pleasing taste. Just not as wonderful as Fairlife, IMO.

Ann, may I recommend a separate piano mover for your piano? Yes, it will likely be more costly, but piano movers specialize in moving those instruments and will do a much better job overall.

I have my first little cold of the school year. I could feel it threatening last week, and thought I had it beat, but yesterday the scratchy throat came back with some minor chest congestion and a tiny cough. I'm not feeling sick, just a little tired, so it's nothing major. I will have to hold off on my flu vaccine though. I was going to get that done this week, but I'll wait until next week now.

Not much else other than a workout and trimming on Buster on the books for today. Oh, I did get all the items on my mini list of chores done yesterday. That was fulfilling!

Much like the areas from which CC and Liz hale, California has convenient drop off locations in each county. I believe it is now a state law that each county must provide some type of disposal for all those things.

If you have a Best Buy nearby, they will take one item per day from any individual dropping off old tech. Might check that out, too.

In Massachusetts it is like what CC described - you have to go to periodic events where they take electronics, hazardous waste etc. However there are also junk removal people who can take that stuff and dispose of it at anytime. Florida is easier. There is a place nearby which services my county and you can go there anytime during the week to dispose of all that stuff. Your realtor should be able to help advise.

My current county has annual electronic and hazardous waste events where they collect all that stuff for proper disposal. In my last city, they had a center where you could drop all that stuff off any day.

The drought has ended! Most of yesterday and all of last night it rained, with rain predicated all of today and tomorrow. The interwebs are predicting that these three days of rain will have dropped at least 8 inches on my 25 acres and possibly more. Yoo-hoo!

Lots to get done today. It's time to nail down a moving company. Whoever I choose has to be able to handle my grand piano.

Quick question--where do y'all get rid of old technology in a responsible way? I'm talking about everything from printers, laptops, monitors, phones, batteries, old charging cords, etc.?

118.2

Yesterday we didn't do much other than lie around the beach club and have leftovers last night. Life gets busy going forward so a day of rest is nice.

I did talk to all 3 kids and touched base with SIL and BIL yesterday. Christmas is finalized finally: my nephew and his wife are hosting for the first time. They have the only little one (4) and a house well-suited for parties as well as being close to several other family members. So a few of us will use a hotel that night but I was able to book a one bedroom dog friendly suite which makes it easier. Some family drama was unveiled. Life is never simple is it?

Today is the usual 3 mile dog walk. People are always amazed that our little chihuahua walks that much but it is truly the highlight of his day. Many twirls in the living room when he realizes we are getting ready. After that I have water aerobics, DH has a doctor appointment, then shopping so I can cook tonight. I might start painting an end table that I like but is too dark and won't go with the new chairs I have ordered. We were supposed to go out on a boat but we need to cancel for the second time as it is just too windy. We are definitely fair-weather boaters.

Have a minimalist Monday!

Greetings all

A sunny fall day here. DH and I are still sniffling and coughing. Ready to be done with this. I spent the day piddling around the house and doing endless laundry. We have about 8 fluffy throws on the sofa to protect from the dogs and they all need washing.

Yay sounds like most of us slept well and made it through the time change. Me too.

Liz that party sounds great. Glad it was fun.

Peps, there you go, two pounds lost following rant. What can we learn from this?

And yeah music in school is so important. So is visual art but something about music is almost organic - like it's part of our blood and as important as oxygen. Your kids are lucky to have you as a teacher and such a good program.

Paula glad the new church is working out. It matters.

Gallery duty for me tomorrow. It will be slow so I must bring toys. Also kiln opens. And a new gallery issue. A person that I dislike is applying for membership. Do I engineer her demise or do I just blow it off. Yeah, I know....

Ann we are glad to hear the remodeling is under way and that you have input but don't have to do all the effort. You are lucky to have a DF who is decor sensitive.

Well it's November which means I have to do year end business planning. Mainly, how much money do we have and how should we spend it?

DD thanks for the review of Disclaimer. We have been considering that show and will likely watch it. Anything to keep DH from watching the creepy show Kaos.

LOL! I don't have nearly as much energy for it that my DF does. It's his jam, not mine, but I'm definitely participating.
