Got an email shortly after I posted telling family members that a stool sample from one of the affected residents was negative for noro virus. So, no telling what it is. But I think overall gut viruse**** the elderly a lot harder than us much younger seniors! Hard to think of myself as a senior, but AARP sure does want my membership! LOL

I think your precautions sound very reasonable. I'm sure you wouldn't want them to not tell you a bug was going around, so a little cya on their part and leaving it up to you seems fair! And the risk is not elevated to your dad if you go, so that feels better.

Excellent job on the 5 pounds!

You are wise to set boundaries so you can enjoy your friends visit (should she decide to come), without drama. Holiday Inn can be quite comfortable. :)

Noro virus type outbreak? I would probably do as you are thinking, take precautions, but go.

Good morning! Other than my rant the other day, I've been a bit absent from OH since last week. Dog shows, of course.

Turns out I'm still losing at a good clip. Like Liz who is not tracking, I am not tracking ANYTHING. I don't log weights week to week. I just get on the scale to make mental note of weight, but that's it. However, nutritionist keeps track. I lost 5 pounds in 2 weeks. That's actually still a very reasonable slow, steady weight loss for me, given my weight. I'm losing approximate 1% of my weight per week, which is what is recommended for gradual and then sustainable weight loss. So, that's all good.

I have thought about next mini goals. I don't have a scale number in mind, so instead I have decided that I will aim for a pants size reduction. Also, Ron hung a very nice Hawaiian silk shirt that he grew out of (his belly is growing) on my side of the closet. It fits me very well in the belly, but is still a bit snug in the arms and chest. I would like to fit into that a bit more comfortably, so those are my little mini goals for now.

Bug has a vet visit this afternoon and I need to visit my dad, but the assisted living place is asking family not to visit because of an outbreak of a gastrointestinal virus at the facility. Not sure what I should do. They are not banning visits, but strongly recommending we stay away. I feel like my dad NEEDS his visits from his boys! Maybe if I mask up and then wash my hands well upon leaving, I'll be fine. I can use the back entrance and go right into my dad's apartment.

Have to check on my vacuum cleaner, get to the tailor, and clean out the RV before it goes into the shop for its fix (remember back in April a fellow RVer ran into my rig while parking and smashed the window and bent the awning...). Other than that, have to wash Molly and the puppy, make dinner, work on my closet, office space and get some clothes to Goodwill this week. There is always something to do around the house, if you look for it, isn't there!

I had dreams about retiring last night. So, so pleasant! Hehehehe.

I do use it all up before moving on to the next vial. Congratulations on the 12 pounds, that's wonderful!

Officially 12 pounds down!

I took my injection last night. I was able to use the leftover medication from my first vial and it looks like I might get even another dose out of it. Do you all use up the entire vial before starting a new one? I hate to toss the expensive medication!

Not much going on today. Trying to figure out more higher protein breakfasts. The protein bars are getting so old! Finished unloading art fair supplies from the SUV this morning and have a leader's meeting for my Stephen's Ministry group tonight. Still hot so I think we will have shrimp ****tail and cheese and crackers for dinner!

Rained again! We are having friends over for a very casual meal, which I was hoping to serve on the deck. We'll see. Anyhow, I'll be picking up most of the meal from my favorite caterer, Costco.

Yesterday I blew off any chores and spent the day reading. Read The Paper Palace , cover to cover. Very satisfying and luxurious way to pass the afternoon. The novel has some truly beautiful descriptive writing. The plot was distressing at times, but I needed to keep reading to see how it was resolved.

Weight continues to be very steady. I've lost maybe 2 pounds since break started, and I'm content.

Liz, what is the protocol for Tirzeptide dosing schedule? With Wegovy, the package insert says you can postpone a dose for several days. Maybe that's a place to start trying to slow down the loss. It's a weird problem to have, but it's also a genuine concern.

OH is definitely improved!

Weight up a half pound and back temporarily into the 190s after burgers at the neighbor's house. They were good though!

We got an early walk in today as it's a little steamy out, but pretty.

Not much else to report. Have a good day!
