FANTASTIC NEWS, Liz!!!!!! I'm very, very happy for you. I understand the bittersweet nature of the sale for you and DS. Makes complete sense to me. Will DH's Cape house be the new summer base for you, or will you sell that as well, and buy an "ours"?

CC, perhaps your body is acclimating to the new lower weight before moving on down. I believe that is what is going on with me. I have been floating around the same pound all week. Today was down a few tenths, but as you know, I don't concern myself much with tenths any longer. I am pretty sure I am reducing in size and that is good enough for me this week. I have seen my reflection a few times this week and been pleased with the changes I noticed. I'm also pleased with my choice to stay on the 10 mg dose of tirzepatide. I think it's the right call. We'll see how I feel at the end of 4 more weeks at that dose.

Yesterday provided another NSV. For some of you, this will be a 'hunh?' type of NSV, but for me it was a biggo.... I wore a swim suit, took off my shirt and got in a pool with co workers. I had a blast and I was not really self conscious about my size. Yes, I'm still a large bodied guy, but I didn't feel like a big, blubbery walrus and was comfortable and had fun. Lots of value in that for me.

Finally did the bullnosed paver edgers repair this morning. I had several loose edgers on a step that were treacherous and itching to break someone's ankle! Of course, it was a larger job than expected (about 10 loose edgers, instead of the 4 I thought), but still only took about 90 minutes for the full repair. One more thing checked off the summer list. YAY!

Stupid lithium batter charger I bought for travel is faulty. Hopefully, Amazon will be able to replace it by Tuesday! If not, c'est la vie. I have survived all these years without it. I can manage a few more weeks.

Bob Newhart and my Pop were the same age. Newhart's death saddened me, more so than other 'celebrity' deaths lately. Makes me realize how fragile my dad's life is at almost 95. He'll be 95 next month. My brother and I are planning a small celebration for him.

It was supposed to be cooler today (only about 90), but it's well above 90 already. Booo....

Satisfying Saturday to all.... (not as fancy as Liz's adjectives, but I like the alliteration!)

Weight still up. Grrrr. Should be no reason for it! Still eating about 1,000 calories per day and protein has been around 85 grams!

DS#2 brought 4 friends to spend the night. They got in around 8:30 pm, went into the hot tub and all went to bed shortly after they finished t be e hot tub with the exception of a few showering before bed. Made scrambled eggs with ham and cheese and English muffins topped with a butter, brown sugar and peach concoction (I made it up a few years ago and it is tasty). I had a protein bar and my protein coffee! I might eat the left over eggs for lunch and DH would love the leftover peach concoction! Dishes already put in the dishwasher and ran but I have 3 beds worth of bedding to launder plus a whole mess of towels from the hot tub and showers! I really don't mind it all though, I love hosting!

Think I might make grilled tilapia with grilled veggies for dinner!

Emma dog seems to be getting back to herself, thank goodness! Bella just goes with the flow and doesn't get anxious!

Beautiful day weather wise! DH is sleeping the day away after working 5:30 pm to 5:30 am. These 12 hour shifts are brutal for him!

Better get that laundry started!

Congratulations!! I know that sad feeling. And yet the relief of not having the maintenance burdens of another house eventually overcomes the sadness.

The party in celebration of our friend was really nice. Though many people expressed fears that we were going to all fall through the roof of the very old garage that makes their patio. So much movement, especially with 75 people on it, and I'm sure hasn't had a structural inspection in 100 years. In fact, I had the same fears at a similar party 12 years ago on that same roof. When we got in the car last night to go I said, please don't stand on the roof deck. And yet... Lots of people spoke and said nice things about him. I'm biased, but my dad's was the best. Very heartfelt about the grace with which he soldiered on despite his many health setbacks. Honestly, he was the most positive man you've ever met with quite literally every reason under the sun to not be. Lung cancer, brain tumor, Parkinson's, colon removal, paralyzed, shattered leg falling from the wheelchair... And I whine about mosquito bites!

My router still is not fixed. I need an adapter so I can hook an ethernet cord to the satellites from my Macbook, which has no ethernet port.

So to the store today to see if by chance they have that and also to get stuff to make a chicken salad for a brunch at the neighbor's tomorrow.

Scale still 190 again today. I seem to be floating around here now after floating around 192 for weeks. Liz I am not!

That's all from here. Hope you all have a nice day!

Good point. Maybe just becomes more organized with someone driving it. I just can't understand how people can justify it.

You don't even need an evil leader. Look at all the horrible antisemitism right this minute on college campuses.

We are sitting on the lanai watching a couple of guys fishing in the marina. Yesterday there were manatees swimming around but we haven't seen any dolphins yet. At the beach, DH was near 2 turtles when he went swimming.

So the house is sold! On the market for 2 days, and the first couple who toured it made an offer way over asking price with essentially no contingencies. The offer expired last night at 8:30 because they didn't want the open house to take place. The proposed closing date was the day before DD's wedding so we asked for an October 11 closing and they agreed! The inspection is on Monday - I don't expect much other than it being pointed out that the ho****er heater is 10 years old and a couple of the faucets have a bit of a drip. So strange to be selling the house I loved, but apparently this couple fell in love with it the same way we did. Our offer 15 years ago was also very aggressive to forestall anyone else having the opportunity to bid. I felt sad last night as did DS when I told him this morning.

We are going out on a boat today with friends, then to a dinner dance tonight hopefully at the Beach Club (weather permitting). Time to get cracking. Have a scintillating Saturday!

Neither DH nor I have ever heard of the Long Bar. We will have to look it up.

I have not seen the Auschwitz exhibit but I believe you are correct that it is a traveling one. Since we will be going to Poland to visit DH's DS at some point in the next couple of years we will likely go to the camp itself. Not something to really look forward to but really important that we never forget how people can do such terrible things when they are led by an evil leader.

Stiletto shoes...I used to love them but no way can I wear anything much higher than an inch or so these days. I have the bunions to prove how much I loved them!
