Smoked salmon...nommy. Can't recall, is salmon native to Wisconsin?
Pretending that box is not popcorn and is smoked salmon instead with some lovely little breads.

A bit of calm in the whirlwind that is real estate. We haven't hardly been home except mornings and evenings since the house was listed 2 days ago. We had priced the house fairly resulting in multiple views both days; all resulting in offers over asking. So all offers were sent back with a " give us your best and final offer" ( There were two great contracts that had stipulated "offer good " till clause , so the remaining shows were informed - if they chose to view the house anyway- to also do the same). The offer we accepted was one of the late showings that included both the highest and a cash offer. Winner winner chicken dinner.
Oh, yah, there were also letters accompanying several of the offers that delighted me immensely as much of what I loved about this house was reflected in their vision for the house as their future home. Need to get through the inspection (anticipating some reasonable requests- 102 yr old house, so, fair enough). Early closing August 16th.
That's about it and plenty enough. Plan to continue enjoying the comfy chair.

Pretty uneventful day here in WI. Visited the new Mom and brought them a meal.
Making meatballs right now for spaghetti with meatballs. DH wanted pasta with a red sauce. We do very rarely have pasta. I bought some high protein Barilla noodles. Lunch was smoked salmon and a cheese stick and breakfast was scrambled egg with ham, so daily protein should still be good!
Weather is beautiful here as well! Perhaps I can convince DH to sit out on the patio tonight and/or go in the hot tub!
Might try and get some scrapbooking done today. I want to complete what I have pictures for and then sell all of my stuff! Not moving it to Florida for sure!
What a wonderful vacation you have had! And yes, an outdoor shower on a warm day is a little bit of heaven.

Seems like Kirby is living his best life in Michigan! Boats, friends, lots and lots of sticks.
I hope you do spend some time in your house Liz. You should get to enjoy the space you worked so hard to declutter, and be in familiar surroundings while finalizing wedding details. Also, your kids might need time to say goodbye. Wherever you are will still be "home", but this is the house where they lived with you and their Dad.
Yesterday afternoon the sun returned, and it was a gorgeous evening, followed by today, which could not be anymore perfect. We had brunch at the patio table nestled under some trees, and then my Aunt and Uncle left for home in Amherst, where we will join them tomorrow.
I used the outdoor shower again. What a sensory experience, the ho****er contrasting with the summer breeze, the sun on my face and head, the smooth granite stones under my feet, the scent of my lemongrass soap I bought from a store called " Provence". More of the loveliness life has to sell.
We had a great time with friends and family, but it's nice to have a night here, just the two of us. (Did I mention there's an outdoor shower?). Tonight we're going to a concert at a venue that has a glass wall behind the stage with a view of the ocean. It is spectacular!! I don't even care much who is performing (although we'll like this performance, its a jazz singer), I just want to sit in this venue. We're going to have a light dinner, because much seafood has been consumed and we're feeling some vegetables might be helpful. :)
Enjoy the beautiful day!

Lazy day! I haven't done much today. My folks went on a boat ride, but it didn't appeal to me. The neighbors 's visiting friend came over and wanted to meet Kirby as he's a dog person. Kirby was in heaven with all the pets!
Aside from that, nothing to report here. It's a lovely day in northwest MI!
Funny, I wore jeans all day yesterday and it felt strange after wearing shorts every day for months.
I should definitely work on balance too. Amazing how much of it we lose as we get older. I think Tai Chi is supposed to be good, but so is standing on one foot at a time... And yoga definitely includes some balancing poses.

Weight 123 (-.6). I seem to have stopped the weight free fall. I did have to push myself to eat a bit more so this week I dropped my dose to 5 from 7.5. Now is the maintenance phase including rebuilding muscle.
Speaking of which I had my regular periodic evaluation at PT yesterday. She was really pleased with my progress. I do feel like I will be done with the formal stuff in a few weeks. She says I will need to continue doing some form of regular stretching at minimum after that to keep my new shoulder flexible but also to maintain the flexibility remaining in my other shoulder which has arthritis as well.
Yesterday was a busy day with errands and moving back into my house. We went out to dinner at a spot on the harbor and had some great fish. Normally this restaurant is overrun with people at the time we arrived but there were showers north of the harbor which probably made people think it would be wet but it wasn't. So we had a great seat on the deck with music, a view, good food, and good company.
We are leaving at around noon to drive to NY to meet DH's DS and DIL in Saratoga Springs. They are going to the horse track today, then we have dinner reservations. We are staying overnight in Albany, then drive to central Massachusetts in the morning to meet DD for her dress fitting. Lunch with DD and her fiancé for lunch, then back to the Cape. All driving time planned carefully to avoid the vacation travelers as much as possible.
Justice is snuggled in my lap with a fuzzy blanket around him. He just loves fuzzy blankets - he sometimes gets up from the bed in the middle of the night to find one to curl up in. I know my other dogs always liked to be covered by blankets but I don't recall that a specific type made such a difference.
I'm really happy to be able to spend the next couple of months mostly at my own house. DH was making sounds about going back to his house when his kids aren't there in September and I tried to explain that I really want to stay here to enjoy it as much as possible - also I need to start getting rid of remaining stuff that the new owners won't want. Which reminds me, at some point I should take pictures of furniture no one in the family wants and send them over to the new owners to see if they want us to leave any of it.
Time to think about what to bring to NY and maybe take Justice for a walk along the ocean this morning. Have a fantabulous Friday (is that a real word???).
