There are some things that are endless because there is already a backlog by the time one is finished: house cleaning and laundry are 2 of them. Maybe we shouldn't bother LOL!

Greetings all
It's an overcast day which generally makes me sleepy. But I did get going earlier than usual. Amazing how much one can get done if you start early. Got some laundry done and headed for the studio. I made four owls using a different clay than usual. It's very soft and feels nice but we shall see how it finishes up.
Time for me to start tidying up since my friends will arrive friday. Mainly I need to just put away all the hodge podge of stuff that is all over the house all the time. Endless.
Liz its good to hear that Justice is almost his old self. Yay for dogs. Enjoy Ruth Chris. Supposed to have the best steaks. I hear you on the scallops. I had the same craving for fried oysters awhile back. Ate a couple and that was enough. Now they seem icky. Congrats on weight management.
Ann good luck on your search for the perfect pants. In my opinion there is no such thing but I gave in to stretch pants years ago. It would be a joy to find something nicely tailored that fits. Remembering my fat youth where pants wide enough for me were made for a person 7 feet tall. Enjoy your drive to K.
DD hope you get plenty of Tea Time in today. When do the kids start back? T -minus 285 days and counting until you retire!
More dinner from the costco trough of a casserole tonight. Might have to toss it after this.
Tomorrow I need to force myself to get up early and go for a blood draw. Annual fog-the-mirror check up is the 15th and they send lab work out of town these days so time needed. I probably should alert the highway patrol that I will be on the freeway for 30 minutes without a cup of coffee....

I really enjoyed The Women. My book club read it a few months ago.

Ugh! Even as a first-year teacher in Mississippi in 1968 I didn't have to do that.
I lasted only one year as a teacher. Loved the kids, but knew I needed a different path in life.

I really can't like this. Morals clauses?!?!

So happy it is working for your DD. I could see it in your pictures!

I'm old enough to have had to sign a morals clause as part of my teaching contract in Athens, Texas- for all I know, perhaps it is still required!

So glad you're finding your groove Liz, and hanging out in a good spot weight wise. Crazy to have to be strategic about not getting too low! This med is working great for my DD too. Her goal is to lose 60 pounds and she is down 25 in two months. She's so happy to have something that works.
Heading out to my parents house in a little bit. That will probably take up the whole day. But when I wake up tomorrow, I will have a stretch of days to putter as I please. I just got the book The Women, so looking forward to that.
Big storm last night. Right now, it's pleasant and should get to mid 80s. Tomorrow the high predicted is 69. Too cold for August, but could be a great day for tea and reading.
My parent's winter home was in a community founded by the Nazarene Church and required board approval and a faith statement to purchase there. I grew up in that culture, but it wasn't where I landed as an adult. I used to joke that I was doing reconnaissance of "the other side" when I visited. What I learned: yes the other side had some real flat out a holes, but also some kind and well meaning people who did a lot of good work in this world: food shelves, habitat for humanity, prison visits. Within my extended family, there are huge disparities in political viewpoints. Our solution: Unspoken agreement to never discuss politics at Thanksgiving, because we love each other and want to be able to keep gathering.
I think FB is a good forum for friendship and support, not for political statements. IMHO
I picture you classic in jeans and a white button-down!
Justice was named by the shelter *****ceived him as a stray. Deceased DH loved that since he had been a lawyer so we kept it (and maybe it contributed to feeling like he was meant to be with us).
