About 15 years ago, a tornado came right over our home and landed in the field beyond ours about 400 yards away. Then it went over the hill and destroyed two homes less than a mile from ours. We were lucky.
My home here in the Ozarks has three levels, and the bottom level is a walkout on three sides. I've spent quite a bit of time in the shelter down there. But earlier this week (Monday night?) we again had tornado warnings, and I thought to myself, "What are the odds that after all these years of NOT getting blown away I'll get blown away tonight? Pretty low, I'll wager!" I didn't even get out of bed, much less make up a survival kit and scurry down the stairs.

Oh! Well, that's some important information. Thanks. :)

LOL about Kirby's romantic disappointments.

I'm going to have to watch Disclosure. Never heard of it until now. I adore Kevin Kline, no matter what he looks like now (not even sure what he DOES look like now).

Hurrah on the $5,000 found money windfall. I'm totally with you on how to regard it. :)

119.4 - today is injection day. I also have my online meeting with the PA at HenryMeds which they requested likely because I changed states. They service both Florida and Massachusetts but like to have the prescription written for the state where they are shipping it. They gave me the option to purchase 1 year of the product in advance for this shipment (since they may have to stop supplying it after the beginning of December). The price is pretty good, so I took it.
Yesterday was good other than bocce where our team lost both games to the last place team who hadn't won any previously. Seemed nice of us ;)
Today I am going with a friend to the first of three sessions for ladies golf orientation. I thought this would be a good way to get back into it. We have lessons, then eat lunch with the Nine-holders group, which is a bunch of ladies who only play nine holes and are possibly more serious about the camaraderie and the lunch than the golf. Sounds good to me!
DD and Son-in-law arrive just after 9 am tomorrow for the long weekend. I hope the weather cooperates - it has been incredibly humid and windy this week but I think it is supposed to break a bit starting tomorrow.
Have a tee time Thursday!

Though the tornado warning went out on everyone's phones there really wasn't much time to get in a safe place. And they said once you hear the roar it is basically right there. I can't imagine being that close.

There was a question in Florida which did not pass which would require school board members to run as partisan vs nonpartisan as it has been. I'm glad that one didn't pass as I think political views don't belong in this arena (at least not more than they are already).

Minnesota behaved mostly like I would expect Minnesota to behave. Locally though, our school board elections were troubling, with 2 anti- public education candidates winning. Sigh. I've seen them come and go, because once they do get on the board I think they discover dismantling the system is harder than it looks. And our levy referendum did not pass. There could be more budget cuts coming. We're already spread pretty thin. Won't be my problem, but I feel bad for my colleagues and my students.
