153.2, same for the 3rd day in a row. I'll take it! People are starting to ask if I'm at goal and are surprised I want to lose 20 more. I guess at this point, I'm thinner than the average almost 60 year old woman.
Yesterday was busy, selling my scrapbook crap off Facebook Marketplace, Bible study and lamenting the election results.
Today was busy but relaxing as well. Selling more of the scrapbook crap, morning Bible study which I led today and 90 minute couples massage with DH (that was the relaxing part). We will continue with the Lincoln Lawyer this evening.
DS3 coming home tomorrow for probably just one night. Talked with DS2 on the phone! He seems to call me once a week and we are good for gabbing at least an hour. All the kids shared my lamenting because I am the odd duck politically among with people we hang with.
The reason it worked so well for me was that I did not feel like I was dieting. I ate what I felt like. I stopped craving some stuff, didn't want to overeat at meals and didn't feel like snacking.

We had a staff meeting this morning. My hope that the election did not stir up kids was dashed. I'm all for differences of opinions on a wide range of topics. But whether somebody has a basic right to exist is not a difference of opinion. I've worked really hard on the concept of we don't have to like everyone or agree with them, but we have to be civil in the classroom setting, and I have a lot of sweet kids this year who understand this concept. So it's pretty peaceful in my room these days, but my heart hurts for kids who heard some hurtful slurs yesterday in different settings.
I was watching way too much news, or so called news, the last few weeks. I am now on a news diet where I only consume the newspaper and local news at 10pm. Because how can I sleep if I don't get the most up to date weather report?
Tonight we are going to our monthly Pub Night at our Art Center. Music will be lovely. Art washes away the dust of everyday life ~ Pablo Picasso. Tomorrow I go to spend the weekend at my parent's house. It will not be a restful or rejuvenating time, but it must be done. I texted my Mom menus for the various meals, and she asked if I could bring ice cream. Happy to oblige. Everyone should have the treat they want from time to time.
In a few more weeks, Thanksgiving will bring my kiddos home for a few days. My Uncle continues to host our extended family. Every year I am grateful that we are gathering yet again. There will be a day when we don't. But not this year, this year the party goes on!
Maybe you are just fine at your current weight? You've been maintaining it for awhile without undue hardship?
Greetings all
Quick check in before I head off for hair cut. It's a great sunny day and not a cloud in the sky. Probably should get outside. Ditto DH.
Ann its so wonderful that a nice and appreciative family will have your home. Warm feeling. I know I mentioned that a nice family bought my childhood home after my mother died and they fixed it up beautifully after it was in a bad state. It was nice to see new life for the place. You can think of that little boy with the fuzzy throw. All good.
Did some adult stuff today - bank deposit and follow up on leasing. More chores needed. May or may not get to gym. I play mind games with myself and tell myself Ok go and only do five minutes. Of course I always do more.
Liz that golf group sounds like the ticket. Not too serious. Fun.
Kudos to all of you using the new meds. You are all doing so well. I think I can't get myself there because I just don't want to dive back into the dreary world of dieting and deprivation or so I tell myself. Need to recognize that its not a punishment but its for my own good. Baby steps.
So Saturday night we are going to a show at a nearby casino which is dueling pianos. Not sure what to expect. It makes for kind of a late night for this old crone but it will be good for DH to get out. This is our older friend who is tech challenged. When he called at 8;30 am the other day he was driving to the casino. At 8:30 am???!! Is this a good idea?
Not much else. Hamburgers tonight. Diane S
Wonderful news about your buyers! I think it really helps when you know they will love your home as you did.

Just posted on TT a photograph taken this morning of my beautiful back yard.

Weather update: The rains have finally left, and my property got 12 inches in 3 days. My pond is huge! Now I'm just waiting for the autumn winds to dry out all the leaves before I attempt to mulch them into bits. It's always something, eh?
Bigger news is that my buyers were in town this week and asked to come over to see the home Tuesday evening at 5:00 pm. I told our common realtor that it was fine as long as she came with them to emcee the visit. The family brought their five children (ages 4 - 11) with them. Immediately upon their arrival I realized that my home sale is COMPLETELY SAFE! All seven family members are besotted with my home. They have so many plans for making it their own that they couldn't stop themselves from chattering about it.
The children went downstairs and picked out all their bedrooms and then reported to the adults about the kinds of beds they were going to put in them. One of the boys shyly if I was going to leave a large faux fur blanket or take it with me. I told him, "No, I'm not going to take it with me, so I will leave it here for you!" He almost cried with joy. :)
What a relief this is for DF and me. We weren't really expecting that the buyers would flake out, but until the deal is done you don't know for sure how it will turn out.
Yesterday, I was pooped from all the home sale and election tensions, and last night I slept 8-9 hours--the most rest I've had in almost 2 weeks. Today I'm going with friends to a bi-annual fashion show that benefits our local university's library fund. That will be great fun. This afternoon if I'm up for it, I may come home, put on my overalls, and see if it's leaf-mulching time yet. BTW, the buyer-husband told me he definitely wants to buy my lawn mower, so that's some easy "found money," and I won't have to look for another buyer.
That's all the news here from Lake Wobegon, which is what I'm also calling the pond right now. Onward and upward!

About 15 years ago, a tornado came right over our home and landed in the field beyond ours about 400 yards away. Then it went over the hill and destroyed two homes less than a mile from ours. We were lucky.
My home here in the Ozarks has three levels, and the bottom level is a walkout on three sides. I've spent quite a bit of time in the shelter down there. But earlier this week (Monday night?) we again had tornado warnings, and I thought to myself, "What are the odds that after all these years of NOT getting blown away I'll get blown away tonight? Pretty low, I'll wager!" I didn't even get out of bed, much less make up a survival kit and scurry down the stairs.
