A Dad joke, but with a wink and a nudge. Now who shall I unlea**** on? I think DH's about to hear a joke.

I am not Catholic, though I live with a devout one. Yet, I was so deeply saddened to hear the Pope had died as soon as I started the engine on the car and the radio came to life. I listen to NPR on the way to school. They ran some really nice stories about the Pope. One in particular stood out to me. It outlined how Pope Francis lifted up the global LGBTQ+ community creating an acceptance level never before granted to the LGBTQ+ community before. I have felt that Pope Francis was the "people's Pope". He was truly a pastor and a man that loved commoners, very unlike his predecessor whose papacy was very scholarly and steeped in conservatism.

I do have a feeling of foreboding about his death. I am hoping the College of Cardinals chooses a new Pope who will carry on the vision of Pope Francis. But, I'm not holding my breath. Thus, the foreboding feeling looms...

205.5 today. The uptick is well deserved. I ate little protein yesterday and far more carbs than I am used to eating! But it was enjoyable.

Yay, Ron! He threw away the chocolate cake from Easter. I put it nicely in a storage container and stuck it in the fridge last night while he dozed. When I started to give him grief for throwing it out (because I would have slowly eaten it over the course of the week - it was good!) he first told me he didn't know I wanted to keep it. Then after a few other attempts to excuse himself, he admitted he didn't want it in the house because he would eat it and he didn't need it because he's "fat" (his words, not mine). I said, "Why didn't you just lead with that? I am totally okay with that and support it. That I get!" I was kind of proud. LOL! So not a move he would normally make. It's not like I NEED it either, so it's a good thing he chucked it. My eating disorder brain was truly disappointed though. LOL

Off to the gym...

It's sunny and windy here but lovely. I made it to the gym and did my walk to Prince. Calculated that I did 6000 steps! Not sure that is correct as it sounds like a lot for me. Stopped in at the studio to retrieve finished things' Rite of passage: somewhere I have lost my first pair of reading glasses. Not at the gym or studio. Can't figure it out. I even went back and looked. Oh well. I have more.

So we had Easter dinner with friends yesterday at the casino restaurant. I got an appetizer of steak bites and it was huge. Had it later as well and there is still some left. It is very good.

Yes RIP Pope Francis. He seemed like a good man who wanted to do the right thing.

Stopped at the store for a few things and fortunately just missed the flock of middle school kids that always swarms from the school down the street. Such energy.

DD sorry you are getting cranky texts from your mom. Too bad she does not realize that anger rarely is good for anything. Glad that your DH can deflect and redirect that stuff. Years ago when Crazy Pat would go off we learned to distract her by discussing a certain politician she hated and she would go off on that rather than us. I wish there was a pill for cranky. (wait, in California there are gummies). Four weeks to freedom!!!

Good work out Paula. And good that you realize that you can't spend all the time dealing with DC! issues. Just is.

So CC I guess you did have to go put that hammer back but no fun having to avoid walking by that house or feeling like it. Does she blame you more than the rest of the board? Seems disproportional. Love the snow picture.

Sorry that you are getting awful texts from your Mom. Wish you didn't have to deal with a toxic relationship with her. I can't even imagine as my Mom is one of my very best friends!

Sorry too for the loss of the Pope. You are right in that he really is a Spiritual leader for all. Can't believe he was able to deliver Easter services hours before returning home to the Father!
