Greetings all

It's another great fall day. It's so nice to have the back slider open all the time. The day will soon come when it's cold and rainy so I am concentrating on enjoying the weather that made us move here.

I am continuing to do my treadmill walking at the gym. I am this little mouse that sneaks in and out virtually unnoticed. Slow time. I climbed up on one of the elevated treadmills today because it had a better tv view. Not worth the effort as tv is too close and made my neck hurt - like sitting in the first row of the movies. Also made some owls at the studio and did banking.

Liz we love the wedding countdown. So glad the dress is working. And the table stuff looks great. Your DD is lucky to have family who likes to do this stuff. What did you do about your dress?

Yeah Peps you are right to just sort of go with it when your dad expresses some confused ideas. There is no point in arguing about this stuff. Better to provide some comfort in validation if it does not hurt anything. I so remember the confused woman at a dinner party trying to put forks and plates into her purse. Someone tried to gently talk her out of it to no effect. Her husband just returned the stuff later along with various other things. So it goes....

CC I can't believe Kirby is 1. Tee hee like a 16 year old who just got a drivers license.

Boxed mashed potatoes are horrid! Here is a secret: I worked at KFC in high school and made their mashed potatoes and they were indeed from a box. They also included a stick of margarine and a lot of salt and white pepper. Oddly the gravy was real and made the old fashioned way. I guess that was necessary to disguise the mashed potatoes.

Paula you are a scrap book maniac! Good on you for getting that done. Your kids will be glad for it. Plus I bet the process is fun in going through the memories.

Football game comes on in an hour. I will delay chili until tomorrow because DH brought home a reuben sandwich from lunch.

Ann enjoy the dinner party. Catering rocks.

Bonnie whiskey, meat and horror movies. The trifecta.

No big news here. I'm hosting a dinner party tomorrow night for friends here in Missouri. It'll be catered, so I'll merely set the table and make some ****tails.

Liz, check TT for a graph of my last 30 days' worth of daily weight fluctuations (I post my buck-naked morning weight every morning on My Fitness Pal.) As you will see, I can hop around pretty vigorously from day to day. I just assumed everyone else in the world does this, too. But maybe not.

That's all the news that's fit to print and fits.

Argh, started typing and lost it...

Boxed mashed potatoes! Perish the thought!

185.4 today. Being at home is so much easier. I wasn't very hungry last night and just mixed up some tuna salad and a few pretzels. I struggle when I eat dinner-sized dinners. Snack-sized works better.

It's Kirby's first birthday. He got chicken and cheese on his breakfast and we'll go for a nice walk.

The bug guy is here and treated the inside of the house which hasn't been done all summer. Hopefully helps with the scorpions!

I might go buy a new hummingbird feeder, but no real plans today.

Hope you all have great days!

So enjoyed yesterday's posts. Everything seems to be moving along just as it should. Liz, I really appreciated your response to Devon's post about perspective. I recall a response C.S. Lewis about praying for change in the cir****tances of our lives, saying, "Prayer doesn't change things; prayer changes me".

DD, I was relating some of yesterday's events and DH wants to be friends with your DH- horror movie, friends and drinks- a trifecta in terms of enjoying moments.

Went to St Vinny's to drop off a few things and saw that the "fall fashion line " was in- no time to really look, but noticed that the length of sweaters was extremely long and loose. I don't hardly shop retail, so-question- am I seeing this year's fashion, or (being a thrift shop) was this last fall's fashion? Just curious.

Kurt has taken Swann for a walk about and I guess it's time to get around myself. So grateful that the chances of finding scorpion carcasses are low gives me no excuse for cleaning and other stuff.....

163.1. So close to 30 lbs. down! I read all of the posts yesterday but was too tired to make my own! Long boring day on the road taking Mom home and then back again. Went out for pizza with DH. It was only okay. Sometimes I think the GLP1's broke my tastebuds! Lol! Shot day was yesterday. I broke the metal top off the bottle to try and get every last drop! Was supposed to meet with my Stephen's Ministry person today but she canceled (again!) I have a feeling this one may just stop altogether! Will work on the Title pages for my scrapbooks today. DS3 coming home for a psych appointment and then dinner before heading back to school. Poor kid can't get his ADHD meds due to a shortage! Says it makes it so hard for him to read without the meds. Going to make Pepper Steak for dinner.

Liz, mashed potatoes from a box? Blasphemy! I'm glad you did the right thing and made them from scratch! The centerpieces are going to look lovely. I'm so excited for your DD and am looking forward to seeing many pictures from the day! You are starting another new chapter! May it continue to be a good read!
