116.6 - I am going to change the frequency of my shots if this low trend continues while I am in Florida. We do live a bit differently there though so I want to wait and see what happens.

Yes, the smoke is not pleasant. DH has had a headache the last couple of days and I bet it is the smoke. I have this map up in one of my iPad windows: Smoke Forecast

Yesterday we went to the beach but didn't stay super long because of the haze. Dinner out last night with leftovers so we are all set for food tonight before we leave for Florida. Today we have miscellaneous errands to do and need to start figuring out what is going back. One way trip for everything except underwear.

I hope Peps has a safe last day of driving! Have a wonky Wednesday!

Living on this part of Cape Cod is a bit like your small town living. Everything is pretty close together. But of course at this time of year we have to contend with a lot of tourists. They start to thin out in a week or two though.

The prices in Florida during the summer are usually lower because there are very few buyers at that time of year. And sometimes a really good buy happens because a place has been on the market for a long time and people just want to get rid of it. There are at least 2 really good buys like that near us in our community. The people have already moved and their places have been on the market for more than 5 months so they would likely take even a lowball offer. Sometimes here in the north if we see something on the market that long we assume something is wrong with it so don't even look. But that may not be the case in Florida when it is something that went on the market in the spring.

Greetings all

Another great sunny day here. We seem to be the only place without smoke. Some summers we do get it from fires inland but not yet. Imagine how awful it must have been during the industrial revolution when there was coal smoke everywhere. It is indeed unhealthy and dangerous. I remember hitch hiking to Chicago when I was in college and we passed a huge electric plant and a huge trash incinerator and you could see the black smoke from many miles away. At least we are making less smoke on purpose.

Started the day with scrabble. Won two, lost one. I had the Shark on the ropes for a bit but he won in the end. Dang. After that it was errands - I stopped at a kids store and got a cute tie dyed t shirt for the little niece. And a squishy ball toy for myself to work on my fingers. Bank and pharmacy. Small town convenience sure is great.

So scallops Liz. Sounds great. And the fish are great too. Nice art. Our studio made a bunch of ceramic fish and put them on the chain link fence but it is less classy than the metal ones.

Well DD hope the end of your guests is in sight. You are a good friend. Hope your event tonight goes well. Retirement does not mean being Martha Stewart.

Speaking of Martha I am going to try to cook something tonight. I have a large gift zucchini so I am going to make some kind of casserole with cottage cheese and eggs. We shall see.

Brown sky CC. No fun. I am sure you have masks and such but that is no way to spend a summer.

Keep Florida dreaming Paula. There is a house for you somewhere. And more ice cream.

121.1 Need more ice cream! Lol! If this keeps up I will skip my shot altogether this week.

Harvested garden produce for 2 hours this morning and will be back again tomorrow morning. Lots of great veggies to donate to the food pantry!

Air quality still sucks here. I did treadmill intervals at 3.8 mph with 6-8% hills for 40 minutes and then did arm resistance training.

Rest of the day will be spent relaxing (for me). DH is going to help a friend lay patio pavers (yuck). Back breaking work for an old guy!

I guess I do need to gather some things for my art show this weekend. Probably will be my last full show!

Liz, the scallops sound wonderful. One of my very favorite foods! A beach day sounds grand as well. There are a few houses I really like for sale right now in the Fort Myers area. I told DH if they are still on the market in October we should fly down there and take a look at them. A late Fall/early winter closing would make us have to hustle on our end but not spending another winter in WI sounds awesome!

DD, the light is at the end of the tunnel! It's probably just hard to see right now. Soon you will have your house back to yourselves! You really are such a good friend!

CC, sorry your weather has been kind of crappy with the smoke too. Hope you find something fun and easy to make for dinner. We are having leftover Mexican shrimp ****tail!

Yes, safe travels Peps! That's a lot of driving!

LOL, pretty sure it wasn't DH, he laid the floors himself so he takes good care of them.
