Sorry the lease negotiations are messed up - must be frustrating to have to do that stuff and have it be so screwy.

We watched the Yacht Rock documentary the other day. Actually Mike watched it and I listened while I was doing some cooking. Great music! I only started to hear the term Yacht Rock recently but we put it on Alexa to listen to a lot.
Your DH is clearly magic: Replacing a battery? Neither of mine would have had a clue what to do!

Perfect solution for the van and your dogs during your trip.
I can't imagine ice in California!
If I am hungry but short on time or meal fixing energy I just focus on protein. I figure the vitamins that I take religiously somewhat cover me for the missing vegetables (as long as I don't do that all the time).
BTW, I almost never watch the AP News videos - and when I do they never say more than the text.

I wonder why they don't just use fat percentages? I would think that is really the ultimate in assessing if one needs to lose? I would think there are machines good enough to measure that in a doctors office these days.

Lucky you! I swear, if we had a RH gallery here like that I'd go once a week just to visit my Italian sofa. For those who care, it's called "Matteo." That's Italian for Matthew, and he is so sexy!

The sun is setting on this fine sunny day. House got cleaned, I did my time on the treadmill, and then went to the studio. Made some new things. Studio buddy showed up with her endless list of gripes but she is pretty amusing. Gets nothing done due to talking. Oh well. Caught up on some gossip and such. Pot pie for tonight and all is good.
Liz sorry your SIL is having continued issues. No fun. Bet you are indeed looking forward to being home for awhile.
Yeah Peps those scale numbers can be unnerving. We should not allow the tyranny of the scale (easier said than done). good deal on the van and services. Your dinner makes me think of all the "diet plates" that restaurants had - hamburger patty, cottage cheese and sliced tomatoes. Not a bad plan actually.
Hmmm Ann I think you should splurge on the sofa. Enjoy the decorating.
And yeah CC, some of us don;t measure like runway models. So what. No clue what I measure these days - too scared to check.
DD cheers for your DH and the battery rescue. He deserves the tacos.
Not much else. Gallery lease negotiations have gone sideways and it's driving me nuts. Think i will ignore it for awhile.

Liz your SIL has done very well indeed continuing on in the face of a tough, tough disease. My Mom is almost 14 years out from her initial diagnosis of lung cancer. She has had 2 additional tumors pop up after her initial surgery. 1 treated with chemo, 1 with radiation.
Today's annoyance: my car battery decided to die when I was leaving work. I would have preferred it refused to start in the morning, but no. Luckily, we live close by and DH was home, so he was there with the jumper cables in about 15 minutes. He is now in the garage, replacing it with the new one he just bought. In gratitude, I made the white guy tacos for him. When he came to get me he said, I haven't started dinner yet. As if I am going to expect him to rescue me, install a new battery AND make dinner? That's too much to expect, even if he is as Ann Wilson of Heart described, A Magic Man.
We started watching No Good Deed (Ray Romano and Lisa Kudrow). I can recommend it. We have 2 episodes left. Last night we switched gears and watched a music documentary on Yacht Rock, one of my favorite genres. It was on HBO Max. If you like Steely Dan, Toto, and the Doobie Brothers, check it out.
It has to be a satisfying thing to know someone with real dog expertise will look after your pack when you're gone. Good pet sitters are invaluable!
We have a Restoration Hardware here also, with an incredible rooftop restaurant, with huge plants, fountains, chandeliers... We had Christmas Eve dinner there, the one and only time I've eaten there. Must go back.
White sofa sounds delicious! Yum. Did you buy it?
