Back from our activities, after the morning excitement. The fire was in the restaurant kitchen, luckily on the other side of the building from us. First we stopped by the Peabody to see the ducks do their march from the elevator to the hotel fountain. It was a bit of serendipity, as we were on way to brunch next door to the hotel and just ducked (haha) into the lobby and saw the beginning of the duck ceremony. Very charming.

I don't know why I still struggle with this, at brunch I way over ordered. They had a biscuit and bacon board with different butters and it sounded so good. So 3 huge biscuits (I finished most of 1), 6 pieces of bacon (I ate 2). What I tell myself: what I ate was soooo good, it was okay to order what I wanted yada, yada. I mostly believe it, but I'm sorry the rest had to be tossed, because I didn't want to carry a doggie bag all day. In order to have some nutrition, I bought a container of Fairlife, and keep it in the room fridge, and drink 2 cups throughout the day.

We went to the National Civil Rights Museum at the Lorraine Motel. I'm left again humbled and amazed. Where do people find the courage to lay their life and body on the line in service of justice? I would highly recommend if you ever find yourself in Memphis.

We're taking a little break, or maybe a long one. We might walk over to Beale Street, or we might just stay in. Tomorrow we are going on a city tour and a riverboat cruise. It should be warm (72) and sunny.

I notice the sore muscles after gardening too. I'm disinclined to do squats etc, but will do them to get my flowers in the ground.

127.9. Still needing good bathroom time but had a little success! Either way, I'm happy where my weight is at.

Took DC1 clothes shopping for wedding clothes today! And they took me out to lunch! I'm a cheap date. I just got a cup of wonton soup at PF Changs!

Tomorrow I will travel to the La Crosse area to visit my Mom for a few days. Will get together with my 2 besties for dinner tomorrow night at a fancy Mexican place! Looking forward to seeing them.

206.0 this morning! What a shock that was! That puts me down 75 pounds. It has taken a lot longer than with VSG, but I am feeling pretty damn proud today. It's also more than motivating! Only 6.1 pounds to go to see a 1 in the hundreds place!

I do have to realize that this is mostly likely an artificial drop because I didn't eat enough yesterday. So, with normal eating today and a planned workout, I'm thinking I will see a good 1-2 pound increase in the scale tomorrow. Well, that's what I'm bracing myself for, but today I celebrate!

Got up and was busy by 9 am with a client dog. Finished grooming about noon. No more client dogs until next weekend. That is a good thing. Tomorrow I have a DEXA Scan. Another incentive to eat well today. I am hoping to see a reduction in Body Fat percentage. Fingers crossed. I know I've been doing the right things without going over board (either way - lol), so all I can do is wait and see and compare to last time.

I have busy work today. The kind of stuff I dislike.... Clerical, paper sorting, money stuff.... YUCK! So I must force myself to get moving.

Merry Monday.

The foot licker continues to sneak in his licks! I'm sure it doesn't feel good. Like giant popped blisters on his feeties.

Today I am off to get my hair colored and cut. I've had a lot more hair loss in the last few months. I'm sure I could always do better on my protein. I'm taking my iron and my doctor upped my anti-thyroid meds (having your thyroid off in either direction can cause hair loss). But it's probably most likely the protein. I haven't been on the scale in eons. I'm ostriching having lost my mojo in the last month. I'm on the highest dose, but the carb food noise is back with vengeance.

Later I need to plant a little. Who would have thought 21 plants would be a lot to plant (haha, what was I thinking)! I'm planting 3 a day. The ground is rock hard, so that's more work than it sounds... My inner thighs and rear are so sore from it. Funny what muscles engage with different tasks that you wouldn't expect.

Last night I did a deep tidy of the kitchen. I am so bad about not putting things away. The piles of stuff -unread magazines, papers, Amazon purchases, confiscated dog toys and other dog paraphernalia, reusable grocery bags, clean dishes, and collections of food packages on the counters (instead of putting things back in the pantry after using or shopping), were creating a lot of visual clutter. I'm not a dirty person - everything is clean including dishes, counters, stove etc - but Lordy am I messy! I think it starts with not everything having a home to put it away and then it expands to nothing getting put away, even things with a home because clutter attracts clutter. Sigh.

Anyway, off to get showered. Take care!
