I like to have "meals" even if small for lunch and dinner, though not breakfast. My lunch meal is somewhat snack sized, but I try to focus on protein such as having a hard-boiled egg and cottage cheese. It definitely keeps me from needing much in terms of a real snack during the afternoon.

The rule of thumb for women once weight is lower is 10 pounds per size. Don't know if that applies to men. You are doing well keeping the weight down. Sounds like most of the time you can avoid the school snacks and soon they won't be an issue anymore.

When I went on the meds my NUT was insistent that I eat MEALS and not graze/snack my calories. She said that the first thing that goes out the window on the meds for most people is protein. She added that if you graze you are even more likely to reduce your protein intake even more. So, I had to pick my two non-negotiable "meals". I chose lunch and dinner. I don't much need, nor care for breakfast most of the time, so that was an easy meal to use as the snack. Most days my breakfast is a Quest Bar and a hardboiled egg sometime around 10 am. Lunch is usually a protein, a small carb and a fruit. Dinner is more protein, a very small amount of carb (usually 1/4 cup or less) and vegetable.
I think the balanced meals and the act of sitting and eating with people (staff and Ron) is both physically and emotionally fulfilling!
I discovered I was slipping up because of the snacks. I had to go back to really checking in with myself about hunger vs. thirst, boredom, transitions, anxiety, depression, celebratory feelings, etc... The other thing that is really helping me right now is asking if XX really supports my long term goals (which right now is to be below 200).
Well done, Mom and Dad....!

Love the idea of you finding random things to turn into art and feeling fine while doing it. Hope there is happy baby news soon.
Greetings all
It's a rainy day and I am having tomato soup after my adventures with dental work. The deep cleaning (root planing) was not that bad. The numbing shots are the worst part. This hygienist is very skilled and it was only minimally unpleasant. . I told her I am happier if I know what is coming and she obliged. But I did take a klonipin before i went in and that was the right choice. I have about 6 of those left from many years ago so should get me through the upcoming dental stuff. DH is a bit sore from his dental work yesterday so it's soup all around tonight.
Liz I am so relieved to hear that your DD is doing well and that nothing too icky was found. Sounds like you need a goof off day. Do it!
DD we are all counting your days. Enjoy Memphis. Hope to hear what there is to do there.
Peps sorry you had to take your Dad to the ER. My mom once had an intestinal blockage and we were about to take her in but then it resolved. Glad your dad ended up ok and that the assisted living place was good about calling for help. Reassuring.
Paula sorry your son is struggling again. Med adjustment could be the thing. Hoping things improve for him. Suggested food for a crowd: Costco chicken fettuccini casserole.
So after the dentist I went to Michaels craft store. I had not been there in years - mainly because of physical discomfort in large retail spaces plus it is kind of far from us. But it is near the dental office so I thought why not. I did not have anything particular in mind so I cruised the aisles looking for odd things to incorporate into art projects. Came home with all kinds of rhinestones, little plaques and other odd things. Best of all I did not end up with aching feet or back. Thank you treadmill (which got skipped today).
DH has run out of Ancient Aliens so he is watching something even worse. I may need a nap.
No baby yet for nephew that we know of. Labor was proceeding slowly as of late last night. I think they give more drugs to speed it up over time. Nephew is camped out at hospital as neice - in -law was preoccupied.

Ohh, I've looked at ads for those candle lit concert series. I look forward to hearing your thoughts about the concert.
