Greetings all

It's a sunny bright day with big puffy clouds. The bay is smooth as glass and bits of steam coming up through the forests. Looks like the land of faeries. But I would have preferred overcast today as I went to the eye doctor to see about doing my cataracts. Driving home with dilated eyes was a trip. So I have an appointment to do my left eye February 20. This doctor has been around for a long time and has done half the eyes in the county. A couple of years ago he had some health issue and now has to use a voice assist device. So he sounds like Popeye under water. But he seems knowledgeable and very with it and helped me with the decisions on what sort of lease and which eye first. So be it. I will start to worry about this later.

So no studio today since I could not do much art with weird vision. Came straight home. May go to the gym later.

Hairdressers! So hard to find a good one. I thought I finally had just before covid but that one quit and it's been hit and miss ever since. I am like you Bonnie - going to whomever I can find. Mainly I want speedy as I don't like sitting around the salon all day. Hope you get your art arranged. A process that should not be rushed - it will come to you.

Yay Liz on finding consistently good fish. Yum. Yes that club sounds so fun. A must for retired people. I have my studio but I wish DH would find a hang out. There needs to be such places that are not bars.

Peps I bet you will have a big drop one of these days. But every day you don't is muscle.

Guess I had better find something to do that does not require acute vision. Laundry it is.

I have a hair cut scheduled for the 20th. I was going to be bold and do a gray streak in the front (to match my silver sides), but I feel myself chickening out. LOL!

214 - Dag-nab-it! Boo, hiss... The bouncing back and forth like I'm "in maintenance" is becoming a bit old and frustrating. At least exercise is spot on. Maybe I'll do cardio today. Make it a "5 days in a row" week for the gym!

Shot last night. I was surprised that I had a complete 75 unit dose left in my last vial. I'm going to miss how the old pharmacy always added a little extra to each vial. I can tell by looking at the new pharmacy that those vials are on the money!

I'm sleepy again today. Not sure why my sleep is off this week. My dreams are vivid this week, too. Most are mildly stressful, too. Hoping for a reset this weekend.

Ron is down with a bad back. I feel for him. There is nothing else like a bad back that can stop life dead in its tracks!

We have a friends' dinner tonight, which is always fun. We are trying a new spot with great reviews, called Digger's Diner. Lots of protein choices, so I'll be happy.

Not much else in my neck of the woods...

143.4

I hear you on provider issues. DH saddens every time a beloved tinker, tailor, sailor, barber, checker at the grocery store...retires or moves away; as if they have personally deserted him. In our case, we are (relatively) close enough to commute.

With hair, I am a regular **** and wander into any shop when the whim to mess with my hair moves me. The last time I purposely committed to an ongoing relationship with a hair dresser (deciding last year to go uber short) and give heart, hair, and soul to maintaining said style who, after producing the precision cut of my dreams, promptly retired. Heart broken, I have returned to my place underneath a street lamp going with any Tom, Dick, or Hennryetta with a pair of sharp scissors and comb.

Today is a play day doing whatever or not as it pleases me. I toy with the idea of getting the artwork onto the walls, but can't, for the life of me, decide what should go where and absolutely don't want to drive "nails" into walls only to change my mind. So I continue to procrastinate and will leave it for another day. Hopefully it won't take another 6 months to decide.

My totally phenomenally spectacular and tasty semi-deconstructed version of guacamole salad (picked up while living in Laredo years ago) is up center stage tomorrow for Superbowl Sunday. Go, Chiefs!

119 - 4th day in a row and official weight for the week. Amazing how this low dose of tirzepatide keeps working without counting calories. Eating healthy is so much easier. We had fresh grilled grouper, spinach salad, and rice last night. So good and I ate as much grouper as I could (because I like it and for the protein).

Another unbelievably beautiful day yesterday and coming up today. Just amazing weather that we are all appreciating down here (including Justice). Golf was okay yesterday - 6 good holes and 3 terrible ones. But I hit the ball essentially all of the time. Our team tied for 2nd so we each have $10 credit in the pro shop! Which has wonderful clothing btw.

Today is our usual walk, followed by yoga, then beach club. Dinner out with friends. Before we started joining activities and meeting people there would be just the daily walk and beach club a few times a week. What a different world now. Though DH has hermit tendencies I think he is happy with the activity. His tendencies come from anxiety about social situations, but only in anticipating them because he is fine once he is there. I guess we all have that anticipatory nervousness at times but some of us just ignore it though he used to succumb to it.

I made a hair appointment for early March. I hate paying the going rate here which is almost twice what I pay on Cape Cod but at least with longer hair I can pu**** out a bit further. The need to freshen my highlights at the roots is what makes me go back. I really need to find and make appointments with a new dentist and primary care doctor down here. The first shouldn't be so hard but finding a primary care person who will take new patients is not going to be easy.

Have an absolutely phenomenal Friday!

Oh boy - I just can't take that kind of cold anymore. It wasn't quite that bad in Albany last month but it was close. The weather looks like it stays perfect for your Orlando stay. We have had such a beautiful month especially after such a rotten January. I'm hoping the new earmuffs and scarf I bought in early January can stay away until next January

So glad you enjoyed the sushi place! I may have to make chili for the household as I am craving it. I offered to make it for the superbowl party we are going to but the hostess wanted me to bring black bean salsa instead.

So true! My mother used to call herself a yankee - she saved every rubber band, twist tie, aluminum foil pieces not dirty, etc. (and so do I). Very handy to have that stuff sometimes...

It is absolutely!!!! I've always referred to that mindset as a New Englander, though. Having family from the south I've learned that pretty much anyone from north of Maryland is a Yankee! LOL!
