Greetings all

Oops missed yesterday. The activity yesterday was to take studio buddy to a friend's place where she is constructing a new caretaker house on her property. She lives on a beautiful acreage with huge old redwood stumps and a bit of ocean view. She is 80 years old and built this little second house so someone could live there and keep an eye on her. This woman is a fabulous artist and the cottage is a work of art. Simple but wonderful details of hand made Mexican tile and sort of craftsmanship woodwork. The idea is to get studio buddy inspired to get off the pot and finish the house she is building. Not sure if it worked but A for effort. Also saw one of our puppies - the one we called Batgirl.

Years ago at VSG goal I had the underwater fat test done. I was 30% then and Dr. C thought that was normal and fine. Also basal metabolic rate which was 936 calories. No wonder I regained. Yesterday's outing which involved some walking on uneven ground reminded me I really need to shed a few as its just to hard to move around at this level of fatness. I also powered through some girl scout cookies and did not need that.

Today's mission is to get hair washed, do laundry, clean up desk. get to gym, get a few groceries and get organized for eye surgery. It was raining earlier but there is a pause now.

Yep Ann I think that your fat test was wrong. Paula is right - you are likely less. Get the fancy test. And Paula we love your expertise. Share more.

Peps belated happy birthday. Hope you are at a fun show somewhere.

My brother is fostering a new rescue dog that came from a hoarding situation and was on death row. It's a sweet dog that is very shy and afraid. Little does this dog know that he ha**** the jackpot. Brother will give him a great life.

Yay for new golf clubs Liz. Glad they are working.

And DD I can almost smell the ocean and feel the warmth. Enjoy.

Not much else. Time to get moving. Diane S

Mardi Gras fun with your new clubs. Enjoy!

It's overcast here, with thunderstorm predicted this afternoon. But a delightful breeze is gently blowing my hair as I sit on our, lanai, I guess. Its covered and screened, I would call it a screened porch at home, but is it a lanai here? It has an access from a glass door slider off the bedroom, so this morning we lazed in bed with the slider open listening to the birds and enjoying the breeze. The forecast in Minneapolis tomorrow is wind chill of -35. Dear lord. Happy to be here.

We enjoyed dinner in Celebration at a restaurant called Columbia. We walked around the little town a bit, and when we were crossing a grassy bit, I almost stepped on a snake! In all my visits to Florida, I've never seen any snake except black snakes. It was definitely NOT a coral snake, so all was good.

I had a glorious sleep last night. Almost no coughing. I'm still congested, fatigued, and coughing when I move around, but feeling so much better. Having a very low key 5 days is exactly what I need.

119.2

I did think that Dexa scan I did back in 2017 was really helpful and worth the cost but I would actually be nervous about having one now. I suspect my muscle percentage would be lower than it should. And maybe my bone density in some places too. I'm not so nervous about body fat these days.

Hopefully Peps had a great birthday at the dog show.

Our friends arrived early afternoon yesterday so we just provided a snack when they got here because they eat dinner early. They usually go at 4, but we went out at 4:45. Great Fisherman's Pie at the Kilted Mermaid. Usually we go there at 7 so there is music but this couple has definitely settled into an older persons schedule.

This morning the "bus" leaves at 7:30 for breakfast and our friends will come with us. They leave right afterwards to visit the wife's mother on the way north. They are uncertain about when they will go further north as their next stop is in Virginia which is one of those states where they don't know how to handle snow very well.

DH and I are playing with another couple in a nine hole fun tournament today with a Mardi Gras theme. I bought silly stuff to wear. Dinner is included for the event. I practiced with my new clubs a little bit yesterday and they do seem to be much better than the old ones. Today we shall see how that translates on the course.

Have a Sassy Sunday!

After VSG I had a goal of 125 at which point I started trying to figure out maintenance. My body just settled into a place where it was fairly easy to pick a range where I didn't want to go lower than a certain number or higher than another. I upped the range a bit after the first regain, but seem to settle close to the same spot. Having a range keeps me from getting too nervous in maintenance even though I don't like it when I am in the higher portion.

A really nice muse about the wine. Looks like today will be another warm sunny one as long as you are out of the wind.

DH used to side-eye me and give me a hard time when I didn't eat my meal when I first started Tirzepatide but I told him it was my choice and not his role to make me eat. He finally saw the light and leaves me alone now. He either finishes my meal or I get a doggy box if worth it LOL.

Years ago I had a dexa scan (I think Peps had one recently) because I read that it was the only truly accurate test. It provided body fat percentage, muscle percentage and also bone density which is helpful for us older folks. My impression is that all the others just give estimates. As I recall the information provided also compared me with what the "normal" percentages were based on my sex/age which was quite helpful.

We eat what we want then put down our fork and say I am full! Or no thank you to that peanut butter cup or whatever. No room in the Inn (or sorry it just doesn't appeal right now).
