The Art Museum lecture was great! The photographer Robert Farber spoke for an hour about his fashion and other photography. Such an interesting guy. A lot of what he said was that he took advantage of things that just happened/fell his way. He had been a painter, but started taking pictures. At first they were theoretically bad shots and looked terribly grainy but he liked the look and took many pictures intentionally with that grainy look so the effect looked more like paintings than photos. Some of his newest stuff are pictures of degraded slides of old pictures. Really amazing stuff. https://www.farber.com/
Dinner at a Mediterranean restaurant with 6 other women was also fun. I knew 3 of them quite well but I really enjoyed meeting the other 3. A bit too much golf talk at some points but it didn't entirely encompass the conversations. We shared several really tasty dishes.
Before the museum I visited the person who is going to watch Justice next month while we go away. It is on a farm where they board polo horses! Justice met a goat named Lilly, saw the chickens and cows and met the two family dogs (9 year old yorkie and an older 12 year old dog). The woman is from Venezuela and has quite an accent but we understood each other. I think he will do well there.
DH is getting me better golf clubs for my birthday. We ordered them this weekend. I would have preferred jewelry but he hates buying it. Oh well. So much golf around here. Maybe I will love the game more with better clubs ;)
Today there is nothing specific on the agenda. Yeah! I have a bit of a pain in my neck I think from overdoing something a****er aerobics yesterday. Hopefully that eases up today before class tomorrow morning.
Justice walk soon. Have a triptych Tuesday!

Get well quick! And definitely try to keep DH away. It would not be good if you recover before your trip but he comes down with it just before.

I guess they figure that only one of you will be driving at a time a lot of the time?
Death of a parent or a sibling is definitely a defining event for a child. So hard to comprehend and also to understand the effect on other family members. Sounds like your DH hand I had a common disaster. I lost my father, then brother, then my mother became a nasty alcoholic.

The lightest I can go with crackers that appeal to me are rice crackers or Nut Thins, especially the latter. They are 7 calories per cracker and I usually eat 6-8 of them, so not a lot of calories but they taste good.

Hilarious!

Oh my goodness, this virus is kicking my butt. I tested Covid, and so far negative. I'm sneezing like a machine gun, so I'm going to need to call in sick yet another day. Nothing else to report, except I hope DH doesn't get this!
126.8 - back up after Super Bowl foods we really didn't enjoy that much.
Yeah, the Eagles definitely won that game! I was sorry to see the Chiefs fall apart as they did. But c'est la vie!
And the halftime show was very disappointing as entertainment. I'm aware of the Lamar v. Drake grudge fest and a bit about why. But at Super Bowl halftime I really don't want to have to listen to a 10-15" long rap about it. Most of all I couldn't understand a single two words in a row. And I didn't think the staging was very good. Again ... I wanted to be entertained. So sue me.
On an earlier subject about men who may prefer happy tears to sad ones--IMHO, men's emotions are often quite different from women's emotions--in the events that prompt them and how they're expressed. I've been reading lately about how very much our childhood stresses and traumas affect our adult emotions and our ability to express them, how we express them, and how well we can control them. And of course our early "training" (by which I mean to include our modeling of what we think is expected of us in certain situations and how our parents, teachers, and other adults encouraged, rewarded and punished us for expressing various emotions in specific cir****tances) shaped our "grown up" emotions, whether we suppress or express them. Big, big subject!
On that front, DH's mother died when he was seven years old, and her death was definitely the defining event in his young life, followed by his father's horrific behavior afterward. Life makes a lot of unfair demands on some kids.
Today, we finalized our home and combined auto insurance plan. Again, it's surprising how much money we saved just by being married and combining our auto insurance under one plan. Doesn't seem fair to single people.

Greetings all
Early here for me. Woke up early. No clue why. Must be because it's sunny again and I don't wake up well unless there is sun.
So yeah that Super Bowl was kind of a yawn. Mahomes just fell on his face and the Eagles had it together. But we ate chili and had fun. Glad it was ok for you Eagles fans.
And yeah I am too old to get Kendrik. Overall it was not a bad show but if you close your eyes and just listened to the music it was lacking. Not sure if I could have turned on closed captions to understand lyrics so I just did not get it.
CC glad your Dad perked up. Hope it continues. Don't ya just hate it when people talk over the tv? DH does that on the news all the time.
Glad it's a nice day in Florida Liz. Enjoy.
Lots to do. Checking on eye surgery antibiotics. realized I don't know much about the whole thing so must study. And must finish up the gallery lease stuff, go to studio and pick up stuff and make more. Probably should hit the gallery too.
I tried some crackers made with cauliflower last night. They satisfied the crunch need and were ok but had the faint odor of cauliflower. Ok but not all that great. I guess they are gluten free which is not an issue for me.
Time to get moving. Must choose a play list for walking.
