By Thursday it should be in the 70s with less wind (at least around here where the weather is usually comparable to where you are going to be).

Have a safe drive tomorrow!

121.7, down a smidge!

PODs are all loaded. We let the hired guys do all of the loading. Most of the stuff was in the garage, but we let them figure out the balancing of all of the stuff. Cut down on our arguments I?m sure!

We leave tomorrow morning and will drive to Chattanooga where we will stay for the night before finishing the drive to FL on Thursday. Will be at a VRBO until closing on Monday. We sold the second car Liz, so will only have one to take down to FL. Hopefully the weather will warm up before we get there. I don?t need any iguanas falling out of trees on me!

What a memory for your FIL! My first DH served in the Air Force for a bit but was lucky enough not to serve in a war.

40s in Florida! Seems unusually cool for November, but right on target here in Minnesota. Sun is out today, and mid to high 40s is the forecast. I really enjoyed walking through the sunshine filled rooms of my house this morning. Not something I got to see a lot when I was working. Also, the rooms are much tidier (not all of them, still a work in progress) because I have time to reset them when clutter starts to accumulate.

I bought a Bissel electric sweeper yesterday, baiscally a little vacuum made for solid surafce floors. I LOVE it. Previously I was sweeping the wood floors to pick up bigger pieces, than running a dust mop over them to pick up the duast left behind by the broom. This littel sweeper took care of both in one go round. Don't know why I didn't buy one sooner.

Did my work out this morning, and now I am getting ready to start purging some shelves in my bedroom. Everything that leaves makes me feel lighter.

There is a new venue for music in our town that we are going to check out tomorrow. It's at a restaurant that also does special events like weddings etc. They are using their event space for concerts during the week. What we don't like about it is there are no 2 person tables so you could be seated with other people, and there is an expectation you will order food (but no minimum). If you are seated with other people, it's a round table, which feels even more awkward to me. Anyhow, there are lots and lots of open tables for the jazz show tomorrow, so we decided to book two tickets at one of the them. I would be very surprised if anyone books the other 2 seats. Regardless, I'm looking forward to the show.

I'm thinking about my father in law today, who was 20 year veteran of the Air Force. Much of the sacrifice he made was time away from his family. In 1961, his squadron was sent to Japan, and dependents weren't allowed to come. He was away from his wife and 3 children for 6 months, when President Kennedy changed the policy. My MIL flew to Japan on prop jets with 3 small chikdren from Minnesota. My FIL said he was able to watch them get off the plane and walk across the tarmac before he was able to be reunited with them when they cleared customs. He got choked up when he told me this, 30 some years later. When one person in the family serves, the whole family serves with them.

Congratulations on the fantastic weekend! The wine colored suit might cost more to alter than it did to buy it, but I would consider what would it cost to actually replace it? It's such a cool suit : )

Funny that some of your clothes look like tents but you don't see it. DH is the same. Most of his golf shirts and Tommy Bahama type shirts look like big bags on him. But when he sees a picture of himself he can!

202.8 yesterday, 203.4 today.... a slight overall trend downward for the last 4 weeks.

My feet are back on terra firma after an extremely successful dog show weekend. Grizz's win was a heck of a big deal. People come out for that prize money! We beat a few heavy hitters to go Best Puppy in Show. I found out later that Grizz's win was a unanimous decision by all three judges. Apparently that is the first time that has happened at this particular show. Whoo hooo for Grizz! I am a very proud puppy papa! Then, of course, Buster's subsequent wins were the cherry on the parfait of the days! A reserve owner handled best in show followed the next day by an owner handled BEST in show!!!! Dog show weekends don't really get much better than that!

Today I have a dental cleaning at 11 am. I will follow that with a visit to see my dad. I have to get a few errands done, too. (CC, I went to Costco yesterday. I was surprised by how busy it was. Then I remembered that schools here were out for the Veterans' Day holiday. The districts all had teacher inservice days allowing families a 4 day weekend.)

One of my dog show friends told me that I need to wear jackets and suits that fit. Apparently, some of the jackets that in my mind are only slightly too large, are actually tent like in appearance. LOL! My wine colored suit is one of them. Damn it! I'm going to see about getting that one altered. But, I'm worried that the alterations will cost more than the suit did! I will donate the "offending" sport coats to Good Will today. That'll make Ron happy. He complains I don't get rid of my old clothes as I should.

I'm feeling pretty good about workouts, overall appearance, etc... As I think I mentioned, I did talk with the PS last week when I got my Daxxify injection about adding a laser treatment to my under eye area. I got the revised estimate to include the additional work. I was surprised by the cost of the laser treatment - $2K! But it is what it is! I'm going to be under, so that's the time to do it. I have decided that the following year I will do the skin removal. Even as slowly as I'm losing weight now, the skin just ain't snapping back! No surprise at my age.

Winter (well, the California version) is starting. I was hoping to get in a few more days of shorts, but I think that yesterday was the last day. It's pretty cool and overcast this morning.

Hoping for a Terrific Tuesday for everyone!

These spurts of energy seem like they only come once or twice a year for me, so best to get on it when it's here!
