I'm due for a colonoscopy next year and am glad to put it off. The procedure doesn't bother me (I have been partially out), but I hate the prep.

Great way to get good Tommy Bahama shirts. DH has a good variety bought over many years so doesn't need more, but my BIL used to get nice shirts that way. DH wears them for casual but slightly more dressed up than a golf shirt. The biggest appeal for him is not having to tuck them in LOL.

Even just in the time we've had the house in MI, the "world foods" availability at the market went from one 6 foot shelf section made up almost solely of Old El Paso to a whole aisle with lots of authentic choices for all kinds of foods from different countries.

Today the landscaper came and in addition to cleaning up the yard, they fixed my driveway lights. Yay! Though I'm not sure how a wire connection buried 8" under the dirt suddenly came undone by itself, but there you go.

I had lunch with a neighbor and we had a nice time. I do find it strange when people wear sunglasses inside. Perhaps she has sensitive eyes? It made me think about how much of communication is via eyes. I found myself looking out the window when I talked in lieu of the eye contact I couldn't make...

I think that's all from my quiet corner! Hello to all!

Greetings all

Great sunny day here. T shirt weather. Started the day with scrabble where I won two and lost one. Defeated the Shark - not by much. My last game I bingoed out for 76 points. It so demoralized my opponent who had been leading. Tee hee.

Those shirts are great Peps. You will wear them lots. And I bet that sales lady loved the cute California guy who spoke German! When I was in Italy more than one person approached me and spoke to me in German - I think because I look like a kraut. Glass blowing in the bar?

DD yep the gym becomes a hang out for retired people. So much more pleasant when you have time and are not squeezing it in between other events. LOL on the grocery. It does indeed seem like a mission when time is tight. As a retiree I even let other people in line ahead of me at times. Or better, go when the store is not crowded. Good on you for getting the hang of leisure.

Well Ann congrats on being done with the colonoscopy without incident. I too have ol-osus or whatever is is. Bet you are glad that chore is over. I too like being knocked out. Sorry the car was sold but there will be another.

Yay Paula on ditching a med. Always good. You are rocking your maintenance.

Stopped at the hippie deli for a few things. Got a couple of hand pies at the deli. We shall see. Better than cooking.

Did a few things at the studio and also got a new right lens for glasses. So now after 4 months I have normal vision I guess.

Trying to post a pic of my rose bush.

The dining scene has changed so much in the Midwest! Red Lobster, Olive Garden and a place called Mr. Steak were fancy. In the early 80s it was very difficult to get a cappuccino anywhere. Espresso, maybe, at this one place in Uptown. One time my Uncle was visiting from the east coast, maybe mid 80s, and we were at the Marriott hotels restaurant. He had spent years eating in the North End of Boston at this point. Before he ordered he asked if the pasta was fresh, and the somewhat perplexed waitress said, yes, we boil it right here. We died laughing, both at his, what seemed to us, pretentious question, and her response. Now lots of places have in house made pasta, but not back then. You'd be lucky to get real garlic, instead of garlic powder.

Nice shirts Peps! Glad you were able to find some fun clothes to wear in retirement! Hopefully you guys have room left in your suitcases!

So nice to be back home with Justice Liz! I know our dogs are always more than happy to have us back home, even if we have only been gone an hour! Great job at maintaining weight on vacation!

DD, your retirement days sound wonderful. You and I would do fine together on a trip. I too like to ease in to my day!

Ann, sorry the new car didn't work out for you. I just bet there is a better one waiting in the wings! Glad the colonoscopy report was good and the prep wasn't all that bad. I too had a report of the O-sis at my last colonoscopy. I now enjoy dried mangoes on the regular and they do indeed help keep me regular since being on the GLP1 meds.

Weight was 124.3 today. I'm having a busy day of appointments. Started off seeing my heart rhythm specialist and for the 3rd year in a row he had told me I'm the healthiest patient he had seen so far that day! He took me off my beta blocker since my blood pressure has been running quite low and makes me lightheaded.

Second appointment was to pick up my new glasses which I only wear when driving at night but had not had updated in I bet 10 years.

Third appointment was a haircut which felt long overdue but was actually right on schedule.

I still have a dentist appointment left at 3:20 today.

DH and I will go out for dinner tonight. Originally thinking pizza or sushi but Red Lobster has a Tuesday special on crab that we think we will go for. So many Red Lobster's have closed but ours remains open for now. Funny that RL used to be the celebration date place for Ben and myself (birthdays, anniversary etc.) The seafood is only okay (maybe even good for Wisconsin) but doesn't even come close to what you can get on the coasts!
