Uneasy stomachs seems to be the thing now. Mine is being so temperamental! I feel like I'm hardly eating and yet my weight is going up. I think it's from switching to this new medication to replace tamoxifen. I'm an unhappy camper: weight over my range for the first time since May, fatigue, joint pain... I'm thinking quite a bit about quality of life vs benefits of medication. I will have completed 4 years of a 5 year treatment plan in April. I had stage 1a, which has a very high survival rate. I would assume I've already gained most of the benefits of the treatment. I asked DH what he thought and he said Well I wouldn't like it if you went off the medication and you got cancer again. (Understatement) I countered with Well I wouldn't like it if I went through all this with these meds and I got cancer again. Either is a possibility. Obviously its my decision. I will continue pondering, and reading, and give it a few more weeks, and see where we're at. But I gotta say, the weight thing is scaring me.

It was 50 degrees here today! A spring preview. It will be subzero next week, so definitely false spring, but every day moves us closer to real spring.

DH is going to visit our DD tomorrow. Several years ago she was in a scary place with suicide ideation. Ever since, DH plans a visit the end of January just to check she's making it through the toughest part of winter okay. She has been her resilient self for a long time now, but we will probably always be a bit more watchful.

Speaking of resilient, good news about your Dad CC.

Paula, this bout of Covid sounds just awful. I can do muscle aches way better than a sore throat. That's misery.

Diane, good observation about the power of walking, it's good for doggies too. And probably very good for husbands.

Peps , I hear you about the dieting thing. I did a 180 from what you're planning. I decided I am happy enough where I am so screw this dieting thing. You're more determined than me. I think either approach is valid :)

Yes Liz, resist if extra commitments don't sound appealing. You already do a lot and probably need some unscheduled time too. I love spending time with DH, and he is my favorite person in the world (along with our kids). Now I'm wondering if I'll want more separate time once I'm retired? I guess we'll find out!

Paula, I knew you were sick, but somehow forgot that you guys had tested positive for Covid.

Three years ago Hubby lost 10 pounds after his bout with Covid, and the weight never came back. Here's to your Covid weight loss hot coming back either.

Excellent news about your dad. I'm very happy for him (and you and Claudia) that he's out of the danger zone. When will he be able to come "home" (to your house)?

Greetings all

No rain yet. It is coming tonight I think. I goofed around all morning watching the horrid news of the plane crash in DC. So terrible. I bet every one of us has flown into that airport. Then I washed my hair and went to the gym and walked. Listened to more Aretha. Her live version of Amazing Grace is truly cosmic. Also had to stop myself from singing "Natural Woman" out loud. That would be worse than the grunts! But I was enjoying the music so much I walked further. Burned 54 calories!

Paula so sorry you are sick. Covid is no joke. We are all sending you chicken soup vibes.

Peps what does your food counselor say about weighing and scale? Sometimes daily weighing seems counter productive. But I can't think of anything else except maybe trying on old pants.

Yeah Liz chicken wings. I would order plain ones but they are not very good without being deep fried and loaded with sauce. Good luck. And resist the extra golf. It will make it unfun.

CC so glad your Dad is improving. Mayo in Scottsdale is an amazing place. Hoping the replacement goes well. Don't you love guests that take care of themselves and don't need 24-7 attention?

DH brought home a reuben sandwich from today's lunch so that is our dinner.

So Tesla has actually lost about a pound of weight since last year. It's because DH has been walking the dogs again. So what lesson can we learn from this?

Hey all! My dad is doing a lot better. He should be transferred to Mayo in Phoenix sometime today (been waiting all day) to have his stent changed and remove the temporary nephrostomy tube. His numbers are all looking better and the threat of sepsis is over.

I've been cleaning as friends of my folks are coming to stay for several days starting tomorrow. They are self-sufficient and will be using the house as a home base to explore places like the Grand Canyon.

The sky has cleared and the snow melted. My neighbor sent me video of a mountain lion walking through her yard. Nuts!

Other than that, nothing happening here. Hope you all are well. Take care!

213.9 - my reaction was to flip off the scale with hutzpuh! Frankly, I was pissed. I was perfection on a flipping plate yesterday as far as food, water, and exercise was concerned, plus I got up twice to pee last night. I was not expected a .4 uptick on the scale. MFer!

In the scale's defense, I did do a full hour + workout on my legs yesterday. I did leg presses, Roman Deadlifts, Leg extensions, Leg curls, single leg hack squats, and calf raises. Finished up with alternating rear delt flies and some tricep push downs. I could already feel a twinge of soreness in my glutes this morning, so it could be water retention for reparation purposes, but still I'm going to whine about the number on the scale.

I am on the highest dose of tirzepatide, so that is why I said I think I need to buckle down and diet. I can't emphasize enough that I don't have intense hunger issues on this dose, but I am having to deal with the most difficult, deepest roots of my eating disorder, which is hard as F*%K! And as I reduce my weight I need fewer calories to maintain my weight. I am approaching (or may have come to) the part of weight loss where I start to feel deprived. Deprivation is an MAJOR emotional trigger for me and can put. my eating disorder in turbo charge mode!

The only negative side effect I have with the tirzepatide with regularity is an increase in flatulence (embarrassing and annoying) and occasionally that weird skin "pain". So, the idea of upping past 15 mg has crossed my mind. I really wouldn't mind trying a 17.5 mg dose, but won't do it on my own.

Wishing Paula and CC's dad speedy recoveries! Hope the rest of us stay healthy.

Not much else to report other than the same old, same old.

I am on the highest dose of tirzepatide, 15 mg. I can't really up the dose. Though given the fact that I am not having issues at this dose, I wouldn't mind going to 17.5 mg. LOL
