Weight the same! I'm hungry. Shot day is tomorrow and the reduced dose I took has done wore off! Tomorrow will be the first day with the new compounding pharmacy - Designer Drugs.
Mammogram done today and then I visited my old coworkers just down the hall. By the time I was done visiting, I already had my Mammogram results in the electronic MyChart. All is good in boobland!
Making Mexican food tonight. The fam has their choice of chicken or beef soft shell tacos or tostadas. I prefer the crunch of the tostada! I also made pumpkin bars today. I have not baked much since June either. Unfortunately, tis the season!
If you vote early, don't you think there should be some kind of blocker so you don't have to endure election ads? Because Western Wisconsin is in the viewing area of Twin Cities TV stations, we get their ads too.
Core strength. I hate those types of exercise! I need A stronger core too. One PT directed me to periodically tighten my stomach muscles while walking, and especially going down stairs. It can really help stabilize you while descending. Speaking of descending, I read an article that talked about falls on stairs being caused by progressive bifocals! They crunched data on falls, and people who wear progressive lenses have an elevated risk. If you're walking like you should, with your head up, you could be looking at the stairs through the lower part of your progressives, and that distorts the depth perception. Another thing to watch out for.
It was 82 yesterday, right now it is 50 and drizzly. Even colder tomorrow, possible rain/snow mix. Poor trick or treaters, they came so close to not having to wear their heavy coats over their costumes.
For school, I bought mostly sugar based candy like gummy bears, twizzlers etc, which are easier to resist, but DH bought the good stuff. Sure hope the weather doesn't keep the trick or treaters away. But like Peps noted, leftover candy goes fast at schools.
The election ads here in Florida are nasty so we are also looking forward to it being post-election day.

Greetings all
We are busily preparing for Halloween. So much junk to move, wash the guest bath towels, find serving dishes, make sure there are enough clean glasses, hide the dog debris and so forth. I am also calling our guests to advise them of our colds. I think all will come anyway but I feel like they should have the option. DH had optometrist appt today and decided to take a covid test before he went. Negative.
Yeah Peps, I am with you on Skittles. They are icky. Only chocolate candy is good. So far I have not touched our stash but we are prepared for lots of kids. Rain was predicted but it might pass us over. Its raining here now.
So the doctor's office came through with some cough suppressant pills. New to me but they seem to help. My ribs were hurting from coughing.
Yep core strength Liz. Thats what we all need. I think that is what pilates is about. Hope your DH finds stuff he can do to keep the golf enabled.
So I sent the picture of the salad servers to my hand surgeon and said hey doctor, what do you think? Tee hee
Not much else. Looking forward to the end of election season.
More chili tonight.

I decided to be "sneaky" about Halloween candy this year. I usually like handing out the "good stuff", or more truthfully, the candy I like to eat. So I hand out chocolate that includes my favorites: Reese's, Snickers, Twix, etc... This year I ordered candy from Amazon to be delivered tonight. I ordered a candy that does not call to me, but is still relatively popular with kids - Skittles. I also will have no problem taking the left overs to school the following day and dropping them with the librarian for donation to the troops. So far so good about keeping my promise of eating NO REESE'S until AFTER Halloween.
I am becoming disappointed (but not discouraged) by my stall in weight loss. Luckily, I have not gone up and my scale dance is now bouncing around 222 instead of 223, but it is slow for me and my diet brain. At the same time I don't want to diet. I am very much concentrating on behaviors and how I manage choices that are presented to me throughout the day. Eating Season is always tough to navigate, but I am feeling much more "powerful" when it comes to making choices that support my goals. I have considered putting a little note on my bathroom mirror to see in the morning reminding myself to keep my health/fitness/weight goals in mind as I go through the day. Silly, I know, but I can see how starting the day with a self reminder could be helpful.
A single downside to losing weight - I'm cold! The weather has cooled down here this week and is in the upper 40s and low 50s in the morning. I am jacking up the heat and turning on the seat warmer in the car on the way to school. Last night I even put on flannel PJ bottoms and wore my Ugg slippers. Brrr.... I think yesterday marked the end of wearing shorts for a while, too. Even with a fleece hoodie on I was a bit cool. I will miss my shorts. It is time to pull out the sweaters and dust off my jackets.
I finally got the RV back from the repair shop. $1400 over estimate, but that's how it goes. I am hoping it will be on the market by Monday. Fingers crossed.
Not much else, so I hope you all have a....
Wantonly Wicked Wednesday!
Weight 119. No Halloween candy here but if there was I would buy stuff I don't like (I am picky about candy).
Yesterday was a nice beach day followed by DH's appointment with the orthopedist. Nothing to be alarmed about: a slightly bulging disk and arthritis, so he was given exercises to do and told to concentrate on building core strength. We walk 3 miles, then he goes to the gym and either does cardio on the elliptical or lifts weights for his arms. Nothing really for the core. Time to do sit-ups (or whatever)!
Very warm (mid-80's) and very windy with small craft advisories this week. We cancelled our boat reservation for Thursday. This morning DH is golfing and I have water aerobics. Bocce this afternoon. In between I may try to replace the doorknob and lock in the back door of our garage (the electronic keypad only works about 5% of the time).
I think we are grilling chicken tonight. Salad on the side.
Have a Werewolf Wednesday!

Email is great except the tone can often be misinterpreted. On the phone you can sense by someone's silence or comments if your intention is getting across, or in person there is the added benefit of facial expression. I got myself in ho****er a few times when working via e-mail when what I meant to say didn't come across properly.

It sounds like your brother is the best one to be in this role right now, but also as if the decision could become quite evident. I would assume there is some social worker either involved now or before decisions are made for discharge?
Also, good luck with the candy and congratulations on 1/4 of your last work year completed!

Long day on the board front! HOA negotiations with the landscaping company and talking him down because he was offended by an email I sent (a misunderstanding! But I was trying to capture a lot of detail and calling on my crappy phone line wasn't going to get it across, and then stuff got misinterpreted in writing. Ugh. I felt awful). Then my next to last non-profit meeting! Though they still don't have my replacement so that may drag on a bit before I get the next person up and running.
It's chilly and windy here. I say welcome, Fall, we've missed you!
I need to pick up my new prescription tomorrow in Prescott at Costco so will pick up other things. That's all.
Take care...
At our age, it seems like most roads lead to PT. I like it in a weird way. Most Therapists are very positive, encouraging people, and I like being given assignments and earning a grade of A. The good girl behavior is hard to extinguish in some settings. In this case , it's beneficial.
Speaking of good girl behavior, THERE'S HALLOWEEN CANDY IN THE HOUSE!! I did partake, but it could have been much worse. I bought some for school: for a club I advise tomorrow, and to give to my classes on Thursday. DH also bought for trick or treaters AND for me to bring to school. (I didn't know he was buying it) That's a lot of candy folks. Thoughts and prayers appreciated.
The visit with my parents was good. My Dad is still quite weak. It was a bad fall, and his back still hurts. His GI problems seem to have settled down, so now maybe when he doesn't have diarrhea for days on end, he can regain some strength. He looks and moves much differently than he did about 3 weeks ago. My brother is right, they cannot make it alone right now. I think he's waiting to see if my Dad is going to get stronger. Clearly, if they can't live alone something more permanent needs to happen. Maybe they can stay in their home longer if they agree to some home health care. They are very against that, as they don't like "strangers" in the house. It's unfair, and again, I'm not setting myself on fire. My brother will have to decide how far he is willing to do this. He has never been someone you can make do anything, I have always been more dutiful, so I have to believe he is okay with this role for now.
Friday is the end of quarter 1. 3 more quarters to go!
