149.8

Good morning!

Second time I have seen the 4 showing in the 10-spot. Like many of us flip-flopping around and looking to slip closer to, or settle a bit more into the middle of our desired range--the going has slowed. I tally up the 1st of the month and check progress. July begins the half point of this year (sooooo quickly!) and looking forward (instead of dreading) comparing w/same time last year.

Liz, it will be super satisfying to watch that dumpster filling up as stuff that is no longer useful to you (or anyone else) leaves the house. It's all so much junk that hasn't paid "rent" for years---Evict the squatters!

I'm now in the midst of waffling over those things that, like mooching friends or now distant relatives and have overstayed their welcome, should have been dealt with long ago. Feels like I, the curator of all that is the physical representation of both DH's and my own families history, am about obliterate just what I was given to preserve and pass on....But, to whom (??) do those family photos, artifacts, boxes of ephemera, books, etc....when no one wants them? What happens when the generations after this generation curses me for dropping the baton?

I know, inevitably, what the answer is. It just makes me sad. If not now, when? If not me, who?

Definitely needing a bit of theurgic inspiration this Thursday, for sure.

Am off to address the 2 large branches that fell on/over the fence during the storm early yesterday morning. I can do that with out self debating!

Another hungry day yesterday only made manageable because I couldn't eat much. I ordered a 2 meatball appetizer for dinner and could only eat one. My tirzepatide injection at 7.5 mg is on-board this morning. Weigh-in day tomorrow will be interesting.

DD who had started on tirzepatide via HenryMeds just got approval by her insurance company for Mounjaro at $200 a month. Apparently her local CVS had it in-stock.

The dumpster arrived yesterday. It is much larger than I envisioned so hopefully all the junk will fit. We have it for a week. Tasks for today are to bring the junk from the basement storage room up and dump it, bring the latex paint cans up to fill with kitty litter so they can be dumped, finish cleaning/organizing the kitchen cabinets (about 3/4 done yesterday), and maybe organize the 2 bathroom cabinets. We have 2 other major tasks remaining: replace the ceiling insulation in one storage room (mice were making beds in it) and dejunk/organize the garage. And a lot of smaller tasks but being done by mid-July seems very doable. Of course before the actual sale, we have to pack up and move/get rid of what remains. At least we get a break in between.

Time to get motivated. Have a theurgic Thursday!

I'm missing that not wanting to eat this week! Good thing my injection is tomorrow and I am going up in dose.

You have to take care of yourself to be able to give to others. Otherwise you will burn out.

Good news on how your appointment went, but sad that you may lose your oncologist. I know from my family's experiences that if you build rapport with your oncologist and know how to work with them it is so difficult to contemplate working with someone else. Tough decision.

Quite a lot to consider with show dogs!

I am googling words starting with the first letter of the day then searching for one that is unusual (to me at least) and where I like the meaning.

It's that it's made me double post 3 times in 3 posts so far. Annoying.

I don't let it get to me. It's always been a "temperamental" site. I just reload and wait.

Interesting about how the value of puppies works. I am of the mindset that I put the exact same amount and effort into all my puppies. I do not sell the show potential puppies for more than pet puppies. My hope is that even the best show puppy will be a spoiled and beloved pet. Most show dogs have a short career (less than a year) and move on to other things, be it the whelping box or performance training or the family sofa!

In dog circles I am a fairly well known breeder of Airedales across the USA. I do have other breeders approach me for stud service and puppies on occasion. The price of a pup is really about what the market will bear and the quality of puppy a buyer is seeking. There are buyers who simply want an Airedale. They don't care about pedigree, style (what we call type), or health clearances. They care more about price and getting a deal. Then there are those who do research, know the breed, are familiar with potential breed specific health issues, etc... Those are the people who understand that a Preservation or Heritage Breeder works toward and seek me out. If a buyer asks about price right off the bat, I know they usually won't be interested in one of mine. I have sold pups on payment plans to the right people because I just know they can't afford the price in one lump sum, but will provide a great home and will "charge" emergency vet bills. I've also simply "given" dogs to the right people, too. I'm not in it for the money.

Make sense?
