We had many neighborhood chases with our beagles. They always came back when they were hungry thankfully.
I did offer a protein drink but she wasn't interested. Apparently the pain pills for her back/ribs have given her terrible constipation which is why she wouldn't eat. She did have some dinner last night.

I am so sorry about the poor pup, but so glad you held him. He felt loved and safe.

Poor puppy and poor you for having to make that decision (even the right one is hard).
I'm so sorry to hear about Berkeley, but so happy you could be there for him. Sooooo sad!?
Too cold last night but I'm wearing it tonight and will get a pic!
Greetings all
Started this sunny day with an unplanned dog chase around the neighborhood. DH's friend came over for iPhone help and dog slipped out and the race was on. After a number of laps she finally came to me. DH was royally frosted and told his friend to go home. This dog wears a tracking device but it does not do a lot of good when she is fast. So all is well but it made me late to Scrabble. This guy is sort of demanding and I think I will talk to him about not calling before 10 am.
So Scrabble was fun. Won one, lost two by minimal points.. Again, had the Shark on the ropes but he prevailed.
Peps so sorry about Lucky. I have no doubt it was the right decision. Never easy.
DD yay on a snow day. TV sounds good. Ditto tea.
Liz did you offer your SIL a protein drink? Might help. Hope you two can have some fun even if it's quiet.
CC sounds cold there too! Good thing your remembered the sprinklers.
After scrabble I had payroll to pick up plus 1099's and other accountant stuff. So I actually had to do brain work. Not much but some. So After this mornings chase and errands I think I will nap. Another event tonight at gallery. oh goodie.
Ann's chairs are awesome! Very fun.
At least there is more chili for tonight. No cooking today.

It must be very hard to see SIL decline. I admire her determination in the face of her health struggles.
An act of mercy for Berkeley :( I have always stayed with my pets to the end, except for my Bella. I had to choose, be with her, or protect my children from my unhinged display of pain. They went with their father to hold her as she passed, and I stayed home and howled and cried by myself. I don't know about Berkeley's Mom, and what her choice would be, but it may have been a kindness to her too.
Could be my mood in general, but I am bothered that Liz has not checked in. I hope all is well in her world.
Diamond D, I do not envy you the cold, but I'm jealous of the extra day off. However, will you have to make it up at the end of the year?
Weight loss is sssslllloooowww... It's kind of killing me. I shall persevere!
I am tired today! Understandable given the cumulation of yesterday's events and Lucky's early morning seizure today.
Sadly, after talking wth the vet and spending time with Berkeley, I chose to have him euthanized. He was not coming back from his seizure episode. He had developed pneumonia, arrhythmia, lost vision in his right eye, developed facial paralysis, and it seemed as if his right rear leg was not working. He had lost a bunch of weight since I had last seen him a few weeks ago. He recognized me and cuddled in to my lap in a fashion, but was visibly relaxed by my presence. I held him as he left. Mine were the first hands he felt coming into the world and the last he felt leaving. That was a good thing. I wish his mom had been able to be there, but I'm glad I was able to be with him. Always hard.
Hair cut after school, a visit to dad, and a workout planned. Hoping I have the energy for it all!
Tired Tuesday for me!
