I got swamped yesterday and forgot to read let alone post! The handyman came and installed my new reverse osmosis filter under the sink. I'm so glad I didn't listen to the instructions that claimed anyone with basic DIY skills could put it in. It took him 4 hours as he ran into issue after issue. And he noticed a leak under said sink he's going to need to get a part for and come back to fix. But now I have safer water for drinking.

I also did laundry and made beds as my UK friend is coming for 10 days, first with her husband who doesn't live with her, but they are on good terms, for the weekend and then us for the rest of the time. At the end of her visit we are going to Santa Fe for a few days as she's never been and it's not a bad drive from here.

Last minute tidying here for me this morning and they arrive this afternoon.

It was a chilly 29 this morning!

Also must report I have had the WORST foot and calf cramps the last few nights. The kind that have your feet and toes going in every direction and make you leap out of bed to stand up to try to stop them. It's so dry here right now, I think some is dehydration (yay for the new drinking water set up) and probably a lot is electrolyte issues. I got up at midnight after a particularly bad set of cramps and drank two big glasses one with electrolytes and was able to sleep without further incident. But I have a headache this morning so I have more water work to do.

Frustrating moment from yesterday: I went late to the grocery store so I didn't have to do it today and when I was leaving a giant passenger van had parked so close to me (6 inches at the narrowest point!), not only could I not open the drivers door, I couldn't squeeze in to even get to the door. I was standing there in the cold and dark, pissed and flummoxed, when a nice woman walked by and was horrified by the parking job. She suggested I climb in from the passenger side which was no mean feat given how high the center console is in my car and how tall I am. Literally she was helping me push my foot around the steering wheel! And thankfully closed the door for me once I was in. I hope the driver of the van gets raging, untreatable hemorrhoids.

And so endeth my daily report! Take care all!

Sending peace and well being in abundance your way for the weekend. BTW, if your DH "bags" the Bambi, send the neck meat my way. I have this ancient ancestral mince meat recipe from way back when the family made a living cooking for the logging camps in upper lower Michigan. Totally worth the effort and expense of jarring a shelf with it.

I love that: "I'm made for water, not chasing balls". You have some great sayings that hit deep. I feel like this is me too but a lot of social life here is around golf and DH likes it so I am going to make an effort. DH's tournament qualification play was cancelled due to too much rain (rescheduled to January).

Good that you had such an enjoyable evening before heading to your parents.

Thanks for sharing your morning view. Like Ann's backyard picture, it brings a bit of peace.

Awesome the golf outing was good. Sounds fun that it's good activity coupled with fun social time. How did your DH fare with his tournament entry? My DH would like me to take up golf when I retire. I will give it a shot, but I am spectacularly uncoordinated. It may be added to the pile of other sports he'd hoped we'd do together like biking, tennis and racketball. I'm made for water, not chasing balls.

The music was so perfect last night. Lots of bluesy stuff, which hits deep in my heart. 2 bottles of wine and some good conversation between sets. I reminded myself that I need to make sure to seek these sorts of soul soothing outings as winter looms.

Time to pack up a few things and get on my way. I'm not sure if I can get connected to my parent's wifi, so I may be absent until Sunday. I hope everyone has a great weekend, and that my DH does not bag a deer because I don't want to eat venison.

119 (official weekly weight). I had my meeting with the PA at HenryMeds last night. He was the best I've met with so far. He suggested that I try taking 1/2 dose twice a week. He said some people who do that find that can drop the amount down a little more for maintenance or it can help break a stall if still trying to lose weight. As I mentioned I am buying an amount equal to a year's worth of the medication at one time because at this point they plan to stop offering injectable tirzepatide in December. A year at a reduced price will delay having to figure out the cheapest way to obtain the brand name stuff. I have mentioned our little support group at a couple of these check-in meetings and they have been very intrigued. I think we are so blessed to have one another!

My golf clinic yesterday was fun - A nice group of ladies and the best instruction I have received so far. It has been about 18 months since I swung a club and my shoulder is a bit different so it felt a little weird driving at first but then it felt fine. I actually did pretty well - he was the best at explaining the proper stance, etc.

Today DD and SIL (is that correct for both son-in-law and sister-in-law?) arrive from Massachusetts at 8:45 at our local airport for the weekend. Early day for them. Today is supposed to be warm but decent out. We have a boat for most of the day so will go up the intracoastal for lunch then try going to one of the little islands to hang out on a beach for a while. Dinner at an outside place on the ocean if the weather cooperates.

Time to get my act together so we can fit in a walk with Justice. Have a free Friday!

Amazing isn't it Paula, how one can play nice and accommodate and endure when it's aimed at us, but, as you say, watch out when someone messes with someone we love. Suddenly we are fierce and courageous. I think it's okay to apply some of that fierce resolve to our own situations too. Still working at it , after a lifetime of being taught appeasement is the proper response.

Thank you my dear!!! And you're right, I usually try to be "nice" to keep the peace....... but every once in a while, watch out! Especially when it comes to my kids, LGBTQ rights and misinformation surrounding those issues!

DD, good luck this weekend with your parents. I'm still telling everyone I know about your mantra: "I don't have to set myself on fire to keep others warm."
