Congrats on submitting your retirement paperwork! And yay for DD!

Great news about your DD! And also that you are able to find something that inspires you to work on for the kids.

Golf courses are beautiful which is why I would like to walk one vs using a cart, but they have to fix the timing to make it feasible because I would hate to feel that I was holding someone else up.

I kinda love it when I come across a treat I don't like. DH found the absolute worst peanut butter cookies (maybe they were also gluten free, they tasted like rotted sawdust) . How refreshing to take a bite and actually spit it out, and not spend the rest of the evening wanting to eat more. A strange kind of freedom :)

So I think I might like to just ride around in the golf cart and not actually try to hit any balls. Golf courses are so pretty! And I always assume any body of fresh water in Florida has gators. One time we kayaked in a river and saw several. Another time we kayaked in a mangrove area. They told us it would be very unusual to see gators there because the water is brackish (not entirely sal****er, but not fresh either).

Today I submitted the official form notifying the district of my retirement date. They will start posting jobs and interviewing in March and I wanted my team to have the best opportunity to fill my position with a good candidate. It's getting real!

It was fun to see the kids today, and I am working on a new lesson plan for teaching vocabulary I am excited about, so that was rewarding. But I am tired. I'm short of breath going up the big staircases between floors.

We had a great conversation with DD the other night. She told us her insurance now covers Zepbound, and her monthly copay is only $25 vs. what she was paying at a compound pharmacy. She also said she's lost 62 pounds since she started the end of May. She wants to lose 18 more. Best of all, it continues to reduce her endometriosis symptoms significantly. She sees herself taking this medication forever. That is really life changing. I am so happy.

And all the while as a kid you're thinking this is totally normal: to be left on your own at such a young age. The first time it ever occurred to me that maybe this ability/need to take care of everything myself wasn't normal: my host mother in Brazil saw me struggling with something (trying to make a costume for a party) and said very kindly, why won't you let anyone help you? I was stunned. 1. I didn't know people would want to help me 2. I didn't realize I wasn't letting them help me . I then did let her and my sisters help me, and the costume turned out very cute.
